AB/CD - Tribute to AC/DC
Founded in 1990, AB/CD celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2025.
AB/CD is among the best, most experienced, and successful AC/DC tribute bands ever.
The musicians came together in September 1990, the name was established, the songs were selected, and rehearsals began for the first performance. The reason for targeting February 19, 1991, should be clear to any AC/DC fan, as it is the anniversary of Bon Scott's passing! “In Memory of Bon Scott” thus became the headline for the sold-out AB/CD debut, and the motto for the first decade of the band's history was found!
The 2000s opened new doors:
After “Dimi Deeds” took on the role of Angus Young in AB/CD and the decision was made to bring in two singers (Paul McGilley and Massimo Leone), the path for the future was set for a new era. The concept “Bon Scott meets Brian Johnson” was born. The intent: the late Bon Scott, who passed away in 1980, meets imaginatively at AB/CD performances with his successor Brian Johnson. This clearly distinguished them from the competition of other AC/DC cover bands and attracted many new concert promoters and, above all, fans.
In 2013, Stefan Schweser joined AB/CD, sings the Brian Johnson part, and has unmistakably become the rock in the Hard & Heavy waves.
35 years of Rock ’n’ Roll and more than 1200 shows are on the AB/CD business card. Collaborations with URIAH HEEP, NAZARETH, WHITESNAKE, DONUTS, RODGAU MONOTONES, THE DEAD DAISIES, and many more need no further comment!
Classics like “T.N.T”, “HIGHWAY TO HELL”, “HELLS BELLS”, or “THUNDERSTRUCK” regularly drive the atmosphere at AB/CD concerts to boiling point.
