The young literary format "Poetry Slam," which has been a stable part of the cultural program in Velbert for years, pairs up with a men's choir.
The Velberter men's choir Ars Cantica has been rehearsing a wide range of vocal art just for this evening: from classic love songs and epochal audio delights to modern interpretations and home music.
Internationally renowned Poetry Slam artists, multiple award winners known and celebrated in scene circles, join in. The word acrobats are also working on something exclusively for this evening. For every song that Ars Cantica will present, a freshly written text will be offered that engages with what was heard before, opens new perspectives, places the song in a new context, or tastefully pokes fun at it. What the Poetry Slam artists make of their given material is up to them.
And that is exactly what makes this evening unique. A combination that has never existed before; texts that will only be performed once in this symbiosis – a unique experience.
Under the energetic, entertaining moderation of professional slammer and entertainer Jan Schmidt, new horizons will open up this evening.

The show begins at 18:00, with entry starting at 17:00.
