A homage to the Scottish super band RunRig

RunRig were one of the most successful Scottish bands, who had a loyal following in Scotland, Denmark, and Germany with several number one hits and albums in the charts. The Scottish Celtic Rock band was founded in 1973 on the Isle of Skye. The band released fourteen studio albums, with some of their songs being sung in Scottish Gaelic.

The music of Runrig is often described as a mixture of folk and rock music, with the band's lyrics often revolving around places, history, politics, and people that are unique to or were in Scotland. This traditional connection in the music, as well as in the lyrics, some of which have Gaelic lyrics, sets the band apart and creates the fascination of their music. Rarely has a band been able to create this identity between the land and the music like RunRig.

In 2016, the band announced that they would retire from the studio after the release of their 14th studio album The Story, and announced their final tour The Final Mile for 2017. In August 2018, Runrig played the final show of their farewell tour titled The Last Dance at Stirling City Park, with an estimated 52,000 fans in attendance.

It would have been the 50th anniversary of the band in 2023 for RunRig, had the band still been together.
Richie Muir, a singer and guitarist from Edinburgh who lives in Nottingham but is primarily a lifelong Runrig fan, had the idea to keep this fantastic music alive and founded RunRig Experience, a band that celebrates the music of RunRig and this anniversary - filling the void.

"From the beginning, we didn't want to be just a tribute band pretending to be something we're not. We wanted the show to be a celebration of RunRig's music. Yes, we wanted it to sound authentic and represent what RunRig was about, but it's not just about filling the gap they left behind. It's about celebrating their music and their incredible contribution to the music industry, to Scotland as a whole, and to the small, significant moments in the lives of their fans. Matthias Daneck‘s Jazz Quartet N.O.W. (International Jazz Quartet)
After 20 years of creative pause, the quartet N.O.W. consisting of Domenic Landolf (saxophone), Basel – Nicolai Daneck (piano), New York – Henning Sieverts (double bass), Munich and Matthias Daneck (drums), Freiburg will go on tour again in 2027. In Daneck's compositions, unusual rhythms meet melodic themes.

After 40 years, Latin Love Affair bids farewell from the stage: The incomparable brass section with Felice Civitareale (tp), Norbert Streit (sax), Carsten Stamm (tp), and Klaus Natterer (tb) is supported by the rhythm section Joe Fessele (piano), Bernhard Froh (bass), Jaime and César Gamero (perc) as well as band founder Markus Merz (drums). On vocals are Angel and Anaisa Salazar. Guest is singer and dancer Ney Portales.
