RIGORIOUS
The sound of Rigorious is Heavy Power Metal, enriched with synthesizers and orchestral elements. The powerful yet driving songs of the band from Monheim are complemented by expressive, melodic vocals. Singer Jess impresses with a powerful, melodic voice that gives the songs intensity and harmonic depth, giving Rigorious a distinctive vocal signature. In addition, the band is characterized by precise, melodic backings contributed by bassist Sebastian and guitarist Christopher. Christopher stands out with powerful riffing, a catchy voice, and harmonious backing vocals. On bass, Sebastian provides independent, catchy, and never overloaded bass lines, as well as a second, clear background voice. In particularly hard passages, he also takes on the shouts. Lead guitarist Lukas F., one of the founding members of the band formed in 2021, earns his high recognition value through a fast, expressive, and classic solo sound, as well as his knack for great hooks. On drums, Paul ensures impactful double-bass passages, driving grooves, and powerful fills. At the same time, he manages to keep the arrangements uncluttered, allowing the other instruments plenty of room to unfold.
Their debut album, "Night of Retribution", which was produced by none other than Chris Boltendahl (Grave Digger), features ten songs that sonically sit between Battle Beast and Blind Guardian – with a vocal style that is recognizable after just a second listen. As the title of the debut album suggests, the content predominantly revolves around battles in a medieval fantasy world. Uplifting titles like "Brothers Arise" and "Children of the Night" are juxtaposed with melancholic songs like "Lost" or "Lay with Me" to illuminate the theme in as many facets as possible. Despite their still young band history, Rigorious has already shared the stage with greats like Serious Black, Brainstorm, and Rage, and completed their first festival appearances in 2023! In 2025, the band took the next step and embarked on two European tours, where they supported Grave Digger and Serious Black in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic, while also presenting their second album "Kingdom Unfold". In early 2026, founding singer Lukas R. parted ways with the band. His successor Jess has since taken over the microphone and is shaping a new chapter in the sound of Rigorious.
