Bed of Roses
Rock musical by Ingmar Otto
“We were young, constantly in love, and the world lay at our feet. Now we are old and should see each other again” was written in the subject line of the email, with the content being merely: June 18 at Häwelmann, at eight, not after eight. Sender Kloppi. Why not gather the old school band again for the upcoming class reunion and really let loose? Thus, the band members meet for a rehearsal for the big comeback of their band “Sunrisedown” at the old pub Häwelmann.
Much has changed. The confident bassist Falco has become stiff and cynical over time as a municipal employee, and drummer Kloppi now prefers preaching kindness as a chaplain rather than roaming the streets all night. The guitarist Muckel now only goes by Mike and has basically put his music career on hold. His crush Tine is still a powerhouse through and through, but as an emancipated family mother, she has her own problems to solve now. The teenagers of back then have grown up.
But after the first notes, they can feel it again: the teen spirit – the aroma of first love wafts through Häwelmann again, the scent of spilled beer on sweaty t-shirts, and the anticipation of life after school. Only one thing is missing: Tamara, the fifth member of the group, simply doesn’t show up...
