Duo Schlesinger Lackerschmid
Wolfgang Lackerschmid, whose vibraphone playing fascinates with its highly emotional and technically proficient style, has found an ideal duo partner in singer Stefanie Schlesinger ("pleasantly timbred voice", "expressive jazz feeling").
The repertoire of the two has continuously evolved over the many years of their concerts through common preferences and projects, making not only the selection of music but also the stories behind it something truly special in their duo concerts. Thus, the program includes original compositions, songs from the "American Songbook," film songs, or jazzy interpretations of classical arias.

PRESS REVIEWS
…Wolfgang Lackerschmid, a master of the vibraphone in every respect, corresponded brilliantly with the singer, sometimes subtly accompanying, sometimes leading soloistically, but always with filigree technique and multifaceted empathy. He coaxed melodies, rhythms, indeed almost speaking tones from his instrument – an "orchestra" with astonishing range… | Augsburger Allgem
…Wolfgang Lackerschmid easily replaced a complete band with his four mallets. He maintained a very open sound. Through the slender accompaniment, Stefanie Schlesinger was able to showcase her vocal versatility. Each word received from her, even in fast tempos, its precisely enunciated meaning… | Nordsee Zeitung
…However, Lackerschmid's multifaceted yet always transparent playing remains incomparable. In dialogue with the young singer, it seems even lighter, sounding buoyant and uplifting… | Leipziger Volkszeitung
…extraordinary feel for foreign languages and excellent diction are added to the pleasant grace of her singing. This defines the greatness of her fine, graceful, and above all, sincere jazz singing… | Rondo
Wolfgang Lackerschmid has been successful as both a vibraphone virtuoso and composer since the 1970s. Notable attention has been given to his legendary duo recordings with Chet Baker and his collaboration with Attila Zoller. Lackerschmid has created numerous songs and jazz titles that have become established in the repertoire of many of his colleagues, as well as concert works for orchestra, choir, and many other formations, as well as music for theater and audio plays.
Stefanie Schlesinger studied classical singing in Augsburg. With her unique sound, the native of Bamberg combines fresh standard interpretations and jazz variations of classical arias with modern repertoire, including lyric settings. Many of her pieces come from her own pen or from the extensive song work of her partner Wolfgang Lackerschmid. Together, they developed the stage form of the musiclet, in which they unite the possibilities of (music) theater and jazz.
CD releases with ENJA-Records, HGBS, her own label hipjazz, and the American label Dot Time Records.
