A young hotel owner is holed up in a former spa resort. She hasn't had guests in a long time, as the fires in the nearby forest rage on, each summer more intense and longer than the year before.

Unexpectedly, a young woman appears in the deserted place with her daughter. For the hotel owner, the visit is both a welcome change and a cause for concern: Something seems off about the strangers. What are they fleeing to a place like this? Can the reticent woman with her mute daughter be trusted? Is the heat and isolation not too dangerous for the child?

As the forest burns and protests are held at the nearby climate camp, the two women grow closer. Until a strange caller inquires about the visitor and calls the honesty of their relationship into question. Franziska Gänsler's atmospheric novel serves as the foundation for an evening that combines music, theater, and dance to tell a story about urgent questions of our time.
