SERAPHINA KALZE
JETZT FETZT! - LIVE
Host, musician, author, queen of jokes, entertainer: Seraphina Kalze is a true multi-talent. The trained radio and television host has been appearing daily on Kabel Eins in the TV show 'Abenteuer Leben' since 2016 and has released a total of four singles including videos with her own German-language pop songs in the past two years. In addition, her legendary jokes on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook with more than 600,000 loyal followers are extremely popular. Her first book has been announced for the fall of 2024, where she will talk about her challenging life balancing work and family, public attention and domestic care. Because Seraphina Kalze is - not in passing - also a wife and mother of two daughters, sweet four and six years old, and takes care of her sick father intensively. She says, "On one hand, family life grounds me and provides me with a structure that I need for my inner balance. On the other hand, the double burden between work and private duties costs me an incredible amount of energy, both physically and mentally." Starting in April 2024, the 40-year-old will go on tour to combine her diverse talents - including music, entertainment, communication, and humor - in an entertaining show full of variety and amusement. The name of her program: "Jetzt Fetzt!"
A guiding title, as the resident of Hamburg reveals: "For me, the slogan 'Jetzt Fetzt!' stands as an invitation to live consciously in the here and now. Through the early death of my mother and the serious illness of my father, I had to learn how quickly everything can be over or dramatically change. Through my husband and my children, I have also learned that one should focus on the present and not postpone dreams or wishes. Of course, creativity also requires freedom, and I have always had to fight hard for that freedom in my life." Such an effort undoubtedly costs a lot of energy, but it is a worthwhile effort, according to Seraphina. "I want to pass on this experience and my unbridled optimism, through a show that will be mostly funny but also interspersed with reflective perspectives."
The tour came about when a renowned organizer asked Seraphina if she would like to tell her jokes, known from social media, on stage. "I'm actually not a comedian," she says, describing how the vague request gradually led to the idea of a colorful entertainment program: "I will perform live with a guitarist and my keyboard player, who will also act as my sidekick. We will bring in a well-known, so-called 'regional' gem from the industry - in Berlin, this could also be my landlady, who has great stories to tell - there will be a category 'How does the world laugh', where we will, for example, mimic 'Dancing Queen' by Abba or the Greek 'Sirtaki'. We will have a joke battle with someone from the audience, and incorporate spontaneous ideas during the show."
Spontaneity is a good keyword: Seraphina Kalze is the prototype of a modern, quick-witted, and courageous woman. Her team at Kabel Eins knows that she acts intuitively in her presentations, rather than just reading texts from the teleprompter. In her social media work for the new show, with a small suitcase amplifier around her neck, she entertained people in subways and on the open street. Seraphina says, "I have no fear of contact and I like it when things hit you straight in the face." And she stood on stage at a sold-out Hamburger Elbphilharmonie with news anchor and author Constantin Schreiber, where she told stories, sang, celebrated laughter yoga, and interviewed musicians. In the Elbphilharmonie, she was able to experience how wonderful direct contact with the audience can be: "I'm really looking forward to getting to know the audience personally on my own tour and combining everything that I have been doing since I was 15 years old, namely music, hosting, and entertainment, all at once."
In the fall of 2024, she will add yet another remarkable ability: The woman from Halle an der Saale will release her first book titled "Life is too short for a long face - My Father and I in Search of Happiness", which she describes as "thoughts of an adult child who has suddenly lost their parents." It is her diverse media talents combined with dedicated care for her own family that make Seraphina Kalze so extraordinary and lovable.
