CHUTNEY mixes sweet with spicy:
The recipe: a spicy guitar with funky bass, fiery percussion, a delicious saxophone, topped with three wonderful voices; all well-grooved with added (bitter-)sweet and spicy (life) – music that makes you happy!
Inspired by moving artists of soul, blues, and reggae (Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, B.B. King, Third World....), Chris Scharrer writes music that touches the soul.
The musical journey heads south of the USA to the Caribbean, taking all those who crave groove along!

SHAKTI AND MATZE (formerly: Mon Mari Et Moi)
Small-scale art pop from the deepest provinces

You lose most of your warmth through your head – you could just put on a hat or you could attend a concert by Shakti and Matze.
They are purveyors of good vibes, everyday escape artists, their songs and stories are true sources of warmth. In hundreds of concert nights across Germany, they have brought their audience to other thoughts and gained many fans.
Shakti and Matze sing about a golden record, Beatles messages, a magical bus, the Captain Picard frog, their travels through the night, seven-zone pocket sprung mattresses, and they have a farewell song for people who still say “Tschüssikowski.”
You will definitely find yourself in their songs and stories.
Along with guitars and vocals, you can hear an autoharp, a stylophone, wah-wah tubes, jaw harps, a keyboard glockenspiel, kazoos, percussion, and whatever else fits in the suitcase.
They have been on the charts for several months, won the Belziger Bachstelze small arts prize, are nominated for the Franconian Cabaret Prize 2026, and one of their numerous albums has just been awarded as "Best Chanson Album" at the 43rd Rock & Pop Prize 2025.

Die Rheinpfalz writes: "Between musical cabaret and singer-songwriter genre, the finest small-scale art pop blooms in the provinces, the very latest German wave without electronics swamps the ear canals of amused concertgoers"

The name "Ministry of Silly Ska" is derived from Monty Python's sketch "Ministry of Silly Walks." Following this model, the band communicates via homepage/flyers etc. as the official ministry of the music government. This also establishes the "official" legal basis of the band - the "SkaGB." Performances are therefore referred to in the established terminology as "town hall meetings." Additionally, all band members have ministerial duties.
"Ministry of Silly Ska" has so far only covered well-known musical pieces and reinterprets them in the musical style of ska. The band draws on both international and German-language pop music (e.g., Britney Spears & Dschinghis Khan), hard rock/metal music (e.g., Iron Maiden), or classical and film music (e.g., Mozart & Hans Zimmer). Unlike other ska bands, "Ministry of Silly Ska" is more aligned with the original piece's directives rather than the traditional ska guidelines: music pieces with different time signatures are not rewritten into a 4/4 time signature, but the "ska" element is applied to the "foreign" rhythm. The desired dominating musical style of ska is supported by elements of reggae, Latin, rock, and orchestral sounds. The band places the highest value on purely live and instrumentally produced tones and sound effects.
