„The Truth“ is an extraordinary dance theater experience by the Karlsruhe choreography duo KIESECKER | HOESS, which combines live performance with cinematic insights into "truth" and takes the audience behind the scenes of artistic processes.
In their first mockumentary dance piece, a hybrid format emerges in about 60 minutes from projections, film scenes, and audience dialogues – between authenticity, staging, and digital reflection. Live choreographies meet rehearsal moments, interviews, and seemingly documentary scenes. But what is real, and what is staged? Between humor, self-irony, and impressive sequences unfolds a game about perception, collaboration, and the search for "truth."
The camera itself becomes an actor: it observes, questions, and reveals what otherwise remains hidden. “The Truth” is an impressive dance production and at the same time a reflection on the mutual penetration of life and art.
The evening is opened by the trainees of the Tanz-Akademie Minkov with a choreography by Kiesecker | Hoess, created as part of their training.
With DJ Emilio, a DJ legend and pioneer of the Stuttgart club scene takes over the second part of the evening's program. As a founding member of the artist collective Kolchose and the creative mind behind productions for, among others, Die Fantastischen Vier, Freundeskreis, Massive Töne, and Afrob, he has significantly shaped the "Stuttgart Sound."
Today, he playfully moves between genres, eras, and moods and invites you on a musical journey without borders – from funk, soul, and disco to hip-hop and electronic sounds. Sometimes familiar, sometimes surprising, always danceable. Whether relaxing at the bar or right on the dance floor: Anything goes, nothing is a must.
