Exciting rhythms meet old chorales and new melodies: The concert “Mit 3 Orgeln und 2 Saxophonen um die Welt” takes the audience through various cultures and styles – from early music to tangos to jazz.

The Berlin organist Volker Jaekel (organ, portative) and the saxophonist Gert Anklam (saxophones, sheng) create orchestral soundscapes, heartfelt improvisations, and unusual adaptations of classical works. In addition to the grand organ, two rare instruments are used: the Chinese mouth organ Sheng and the medieval Portativ.

The entertaining concert is personally moderated by the musicians – lively, humorous, and with many insights into the creation of their music. An evening full of energy, poetry, and unexpected sound colors that goes far beyond conventional organ clichés.

In the concert, they also perform with two small and rare organs. These include the Chinese mouth organ Sheng and the medieval Portativ.

In their repertoire, they have arrangements of works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Edward Grieg, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Steve Lacy, Astor Piazzolla, and others.
