Ewald Lienen - Fußball und wie das Leben so spielt...
EWALD LIENEN
Football and how life plays out...
Many fans remember him as the left-wing speedster with long hair. Not a few still have the images of his slashed thigh in their minds. He has become known as someone who advocates for social justice and observes and criticizes the advancing commercialization in football with clear sight and an alert mind.
For almost 20 years, he ran himself ragged for clubs like Borussia Mönchengladbach, Arminia Bielefeld, and MSV Duisburg.
He trained teams both domestically and internationally for 28 years, achieving respectable success with clubs such as MSV Duisburg, Hansa Rostock, 1.FC Köln, Panionios Athens, and last but not least, FC St. Pauli.
Intelligent and articulate, Lienen meticulously dissects not only the events surrounding football. He also analyzes the societal situation in Germany and around the world with razor-sharp insight.
Those who experience him on stage will be captivated. With great passion and humor, he enchants the audience. They only leave when the caretaker comes on stage because he also wants to wrap up for the day...
His counterpart on most evenings is the Hamburg sports journalist and conversation partner Michael Born. He will moderate his friend's events. Occasionally, he falls victim to Ewald's verbal outbursts, which amuses the audience more than it does the moderator. In addition, a prominent guest from football will occasionally enrich the discussion.
Ewald Lienen's longtime friend, the Duisburg musician Jupp Goetz, will sing some songs in between so that the audience can also take a breather.
The audience can expect an informative, entertaining, and cheerful evening that will resonate.
