32. Festival der Kleinkunst: Ralf Senkel - Der hat gesessen!
DER HAT GESESSEN!
A character, observed, sits and tells stories. Sometimes hilariously funny, sometimes so pinpoint accurate in his observations that one believes they are sitting in a cabaret.
Ralf Senkel wanders between the boundaries of comedy and cabaret, and although he is always seated on stage, he does not occupy a genre permanently. It is up to the audience to recognize this balancing act. Linguistically and in heart, equipped with a large portion of Rhineland flair, he takes you on a journey into his little world.
In his village, he is as well-known as a colorful dog, not just because of his uniquely fashionable jacket that he really always wears. Nevertheless – he claims not to have "metabolic problems," although that is precisely what people say about him.
Ralf's so-called "professional inactivity" gives him time to observe. Therefore, his stories come straight from everyday life, sometimes quirky, sometimes serious, always sharp-witted and, importantly: incredibly funny. Involuntarily funny? "No, I do this voluntarily!"
Ralf Senkel is, among others, a winner of the Dattelner and Kremenholler Kleinkunstprizes, nominated for Tegtmeiers Erben 2023, and a regular guest at Quatsch Comedy Club shows.
Experience the not-so-secret insider tip of the comedy and cabaret scene in his first solo program – "Der hat gesessen!"
Ralf Senkel comes, sits, and tells... and afterwards you will say: "Der hat gesessen!" - promised.
Press comments:
...With a critical eye on common quirks of today, whether it be excessive online shopping or selfie mania, Ralf Senkel hit the nail on the head. In his role as a "professionally inactive" contemporary, who has not been in the workplace for years due to back problems, he did not seem to be a mood lifter, but he combined sharp observation with brilliant gags.
He mocked in his Kölsch dialect, saying that the selfie addict even photographs himself at his mother's coffin and posts the picture on social networks. "Nowadays everything is photographed, but no one paints a picture," he noted...

Jury justification for nomination: "Ralf Senkel's timelessly unfashionable polyester jacket is also striking. He could be that one uncle who always sits down uninvited at the camping table in the community garden and tells a tale from life. He impressed with his unique style of stand-up: while sitting. And with his hilarious way between laconic and lethargic, akin to Johann König or Rüdiger Hofmann."
