ACHTUNG! Neuer Ort: Jetzt Reichswaldhalle, Feucht
Deutschlands STS-Tributband Nr.1

WARNING! New venue: Now Reichswaldhalle, Feucht
Germany's No. 1 STS tribute band
The Austrian pop-rock formation S.T.S. filled large halls with their passionate live performances in the German-speaking area until just a few years ago. Steinbäcker, Timischl, and Schiffkowitz were the three who delighted fans with handmade folk songs from 1978 to 2012. Most of these songs were written by them, while some were originally by artists like Neil Young, Crosby Stills & Nash, the Byrds, Bob Dylan, or the Beatles. These songs are powerful because they admirably manage to create lyrics that remain close to the original while sounding particularly good in the Styrian dialect.
MTW now brings one of the most authentic STS tribute bands to the stage, convincingly delivering the original sound of this successful group. Live and handcrafted, the six musicians perform the songs and the typical sound of STS.
The three singers and guitarists Oliver Langer, who replaced the founding "M" of MTW in 2023, along with Tom Schrollinger and Werner Völkel, share the passion and enthusiasm for STS's entertaining yet profound repertoire.
After the three Styrians Steinbäcker, Timischl, and Schiffkowitz stopped their joint performances following their farewell tour in 2012, MTW believes: This wonderful music deserves to be experienced live.
Together with keyboardist Roland Rettenbacher, bassist Mike Fix, and drummer Steve Bauer, they form a six-member resonance body that brings the authentic STS sound to life in all its fullness and variety. On March 16, 2013, MTW held their first concert in Nuremberg. Since then, audience numbers have steadily increased from performance to performance.
Beyond the classics "Fürstenfeld," "Großvater," or "Da kummt die Sunn," MTW brings many of the socially critical songs like "Kalt und kälter," "Heavy Metal Fan," or "Ende nie" surprisingly close to the original. The six musicians with their characteristic three-part vocals and varied interpretations, from soft ballads to harder numbers, offer a musical journey through the great diversity of STS successes. In short: Pure Austropop in the typical STS sound from the Noris!

ALMOST TWINS + WELTEN
An evening with two band projects between folk, indie, and jazz. Even before they released music together, ALMOST TWINS became a secret tip in the Leipzig and Berlin indie scene. It is not without reason that one would think so. Because parts of the band are also parts of WELTEN and NOUK. Two projects in which Anna-Lucia Rupp is also involved. The same musician who plays alongside Fama M'Boup in OLICIA. Both projects will be experienced on a special evening with us.
In search of sonic expansion, singer and guitarist Max Grüner, who initially started ALMOST TWINS as a solo project, found in his four bandmates a nearly twin-like understanding through their shared closeness to music. Laurenz Welten (saxophone, clarinet), Valentin Mühlberger (synth), Raphael Schuster (drums), and Arne Imig (bass) enhance Max's songs in a way that gives expression to his emotions without being pathetic. Warm synth carpets and swirling Wurlitzer patterns blend with dreamy saxophone and clarinet lines, creating a sound that feels light without losing depth, radiating calm yet permitting itself to break out from it. A perfect singer-songwriter dream reminiscent of Erlend Øye (Kings Of Convenience), José Gonzáles, or This Is The Kit.
WELTEN is a young, emerging band from Leipzig. Characteristic of their music is the warm, melancholic, sometimes fragile band sound that can be categorized stylistically in minimalist indie-jazz. The constant search for novel sounds and personal expressions gives rise to unique tonal colors and strong melodies, opening up new WELTEN of improvised music and making them accessible. With floating sound formations and enchanting atmospheres, WELTEN evoke stories in large dynamic arcs that speak of hopes and longings, taking the audience on a musical journey to ice deserts and grass cutter ants. The compositions create a vast openness that unexpectedly transitions into a calm and intimate closeness. This leads to exciting shifts in perspective, ranging from the view outside into the large WELTEN to the contemplation of one’s very personal inner world. Thus, each piece is a small total work of art that, like a kaleidoscope, reveals a variety of colors, sounds, and associations, enchanting in its own unique way.
