Revolution on the farm! Together, the oppressed farm animals drive away their exploitative and negligent owners and seize power. From now on, everything is supposed to be better - following the maxim: All for the common good - prosperity for all! The initial enthusiasm is quickly followed by the sobering realities of practice. The work proves to be exhausting, and not a few animals secretly long for the old times. But against all fears, and despite derision and envy from neighboring farmers, the venture succeeds. With combined efforts, the animals manage to harvest the first crop and have enough food for the winter. However, it doesn't take long before the grassroots democratic principles of the collective begin to falter. The smartest in the collective, the pigs, start to exploit their evolutionary advantage and initially position themselves as indispensable advisors, before allowing themselves to be elected as an all-controlling expert committee. The attacks from the old owner, who, together with the other farmers, tries to violently reclaim his farm, strengthen their dominance. In the end, democracy has turned into a dictatorship where a single pig makes all the decisions and defends its power with violence against criticism and resistance.

Stefan Dehler and Christoph Huber joyfully retell George Orwell's dystopian fairy tale, which narrates the fury of self-determined liberation and the subsequent corruption of established democracy by a fascist elite, using the means of theater. Their stage adaptation will be presented for the first time as part of this year's Dog Days, a program series in which the ensemble presents special projects both thematically and formally.

Die Kuh Rosemarie

Familystory by Andri Beyeler - for children from 5 years
Based on the picture book "Die Kuh Rosalinde" by Frauke Nahrgang and Winfried Opgenoorth
Theater Patati Patata

How wonderful: Life on the farm! It clucks, grunts, barks, bubbles, slurps, the birds sing - everything could be so beautiful if it weren't for THIS COW! Rosemarie knows everything better. She doesn't have a good word for anything or anyone: The chicken clucks too loud, the dog slurps when eating, the goldfish isn’t wearing a bathing suit, the pig - dirty as a pig, and the farmer's pajamas - embarrassing. There’s only one solution: The cow must go - far, far away. And so the farmer drags her to the airport, books a ticket, and sends her off to far, far away.
Finally peace, well that’s better. All the animals can do what they want and the farmer can wear his favorite pajamas.
But suddenly there's a growl at the barn door: First a crocodile, then a lion, a giraffe, and more and more... One animal after another appears on the farm, because since THIS COW lives far, far away, no animal is allowed to be as it is anymore. The peaceful coexistence is definitely over...

In a humorous way, with a lot of wit and music, the play tells of narrow-mindedness versus respectful, tolerant coexistence.

"Auf 6 Pfoten" - Hundeerziehung mit Holger Schüler

The bestselling author is going on tour again!
Holger Schüler and his loyal companions Dakota & Anoki delight with a new live show!

Dog training can be a lot of fun! Sometimes it’s the joy of the owners about the achieved goals and sometimes it’s the schadenfreude of others when things don’t go as planned. No matter what, there’s always something to laugh about!
Educational & funny!

With many stories from his everyday life as a dog owner and as an expert in dog training, Holger Schüler explains the basics of the topic of dogs in his own unique way.

What to do when the dog doesn’t listen, pulls on the leash, or is aggressive towards other people or dogs? Holger Schüler specializes in working with “problem dogs” and experiences daily that the problems actually start with the humans. That’s where his educational philosophy begins. For a harmonious partnership between human and dog, the human must understand the social partner dog and learn to communicate correctly with him. In his new live show, Holger Schüler demonstrates directly on the dog what is crucial for successful training and what is necessary for a relaxed and orderly coexistence, how to correct mistakes or prevent them from the start.
Very close to reality!

Working in a shelter for difficult-to-train dogs, over 12 years of professional experience with the dog rescue team, and a solid education as a dog trainer has made Holger Schüler an expert! For more than 25 years, he has been caring for dogs and their owners – plenty of “food” for an entertaining evening. But don’t worry, guaranteed easy to digest!

Who should see the new show?
Just about everyone! Even people without a dog will get their money’s worth. In addition to tips for pedestrians and cyclists on dealing with aggressive dogs, there will definitely be something to laugh and learn about, even if you usually prefer to observe the four-legged friends from a distance.

Bringing dogs is not allowed.

Farm der Tiere

On Mr. Jones's farm, the animals are rehearsing the uprising: Stirred and touched by the words of the old boar Major, they overcome the rule of man and establish a free farm where all animals are to be equal. Together they create a society where their labor serves them and the fruits of this labor are distributed fairly among all. But then a process begins to unfold, at the end of which lies the subjugation by a small group of animals that dominates all others. Suddenly, not only previously accepted truths are called into question, but also the ideas of equality and brotherhood are perverted until the perversion is accepted and supported as a valid order by nearly all the animals.

George Orwell's keen allegory from the 1940s, which exposes the mechanisms of power and the darker sides of human coexistence, comes to life in the production by Anna Elisabeth Frick and team in a dystopian world. Somewhere situated between animal, human, and monster, the beings of this world are increasingly deformed.

stille hunde: Eine Weihnachtsgeschichte

Mr. Scrooge works hard for his money and has nothing to spare. Nothing and nobody. Not even at Christmas. Especially not then. Mr. Scrooge fundamentally considers gift-giving to be a reckless waste of money. He prefers to save. Understandably, Mr. Scrooge has no friends. And so he sits alone in his unheated apartment on Christmas Eve. Alone? No, not quite. That evening, uninvited guests arrive – and when they have vanished again, Mr. Scrooge has become a different person...

stille hunde has turned the famous ghost story by Charles Dickens into a cleverly constructed two-person play that satirically brings to the stage the tale of the miraculous transformation of the malevolent Ebenezer Scrooge through the spirits of the past, present, and future.

Animal Farm

ANIMAL FARM by George Orwell
----------------------
"I can't decide. For me, whoever speaks last is always right." Sheep
----------------------
On the Manor Farm, the ruling human is overthrown by the animals - magnificent! Now it's the animals' turn. But then the pigs seize power - abominable. And in the end, nothing is better.
"You can't help but feel that there is a parallel between Trump and Animal Farm. And Trump is Mr. Jones and Napoleon in one person. A horrific thought, isn't it?" This was recently said by George Orwell's son in an interview with SZ-Magazin. There’s really nothing to add to that.
----------------------
Director: Annett Segerer
Musical Direction: Oliver Vilzmann
Cast: Andreas Hagl, Susan Hecker, Hilmar Henjes, Carsten Klemm, Nik Mayr, Rosalie Schlagheck, and Oliver Vilzmann
