In November 2011, the ndr filmed four episodes of a new short series in Hamburg. But "Der Tatortreiniger" became a cult hit.
Already crowned with the Grimme Prize in 2012, the demand from the ever-growing enthusiastic audience skyrocketed. By 2016, the sixth season of the dark comedy series was already filmed. The ratings, especially among young audiences, exploded.
