The German-American multi-instrumentalist Chris Hopkins, who has won numerous awards, is one of the most internationally active artists with over 5000 live concerts worldwide. For over three decades, he has shown how to live his dream, achieve success, and bring countless people together and inspire them with his music. Along the way, he has often shared the stage with many jazz stars such as Clark Terry, Scott Hamilton, Butch Miles, Till Brönner, and Götz Alsmann.
Equally skilled on piano and saxophone, he impresses with musical creativity and immense drive. He has contributed to over 50 CD productions, many of which have received coveted awards such as the "Prize of the German Record Critics" or the "Prix de l'Academie du Jazz, Paris." Recently, he was honored for his contributions to classical jazz in Europe as the "Keeper of the Flame" and with the coveted "Jazz-Pott Award" as "Best Progressive Artist."
Since the 1990s, Chris Hopkins has often performed himself as the youngest band member. Now he is excited to present for the first time some of the most talented jazz musicians of a new generation - discovered during his teaching work at the University of Music in Cologne, all between 23 and 33 years old - the "Young Lions" and their brand new joint album "CHRIS HOPKINS meets the YOUNG LIONS: Live!
