After the great success of the autumn tour 2023, the legendary rock icon IAN PAICE is back on a European tour.
Ian Paice is the legendary drummer of Deep Purple and currently the only remaining founding member and leader of Deep Purple. He returns with the band Purpendicular to bring his Best-of-Classic-Deep-Purple show to the stage. Ian Paice can be experienced live and up close in a club atmosphere. No video screen is needed, as Ian Paice will perform his unique playing style just a few meters away from the audience for over two hours. Deep Purple classics like "Child In Time," "Black Night," "Smoke On The Water," "Woman From Tokyo," and "Hush" can be heard.
The band is excellently cast, featuring bassist Nick Fyffe from Jamiroquai, Italian piano star Alessandro Debiaggi, and German guitar hero Herbert Bucher. Of course, the incomparable Robby Walsh is also part of the experience as the singer!
Deep Purple has been celebrated since the 70s as one of the most innovative and successful rock bands of all time, and Paice's drumming has had a significant influence on that. Their music is characterized by the balance between brilliant musicianship and monumental simplicity. Besides Deep Purple, Paice has also played with Whitesnake, Gary Moore, Velvet Underground, as well as solo projects by Jon Lord, Paul McCartney, and Pete York, or the Spencer Davis Group.
The band Purpendicular, which Ian Paice and Joe Lynn Turner even called "the best Deep Purple tribute band in the world," has the ability to convey the unique magic of Deep Purple, which is responsible for the success of the legendary rock band, live at every performance. Even Ritchie Blackmore says, "Purpendicular is an excellent band," and Roger Glover remarked after his performance with Purpendicular in Basel in 2012, "They sound fresh, and it's a great joy to play with them." Therefore, on the first album "tHis is the tHing," besides Ian Paice, other guests included Steve Morse, Don Airey, Roger Glover, and Neil Murray. On the current album "Venus to Volcanus," Ian Paice once again honors on the drums. The former Rainbow keyboardist Tony Carey is also featured as a guest. The album reached the Top 20 of the German Metal-Rock Charts.
