The old swimming pool is a former indoor pool in the Bergheim district of Heidelberg.
The south side facing Poststraße is now the main facade, with a single-story entrance hall. On the access level from the south, the former lower floor now houses a organic supermarket and a restaurant.
The men's bath was used as a market hall with gastronomic offerings until the end of 2013. The hall with the gallery and coffered ceiling was preserved and a new structure was added in the middle of the room, with market stands located where the former changing rooms were.
The renovated women's bath and the rooftop lounge are used for events, while the former steam bath now houses a salt grotto.
The old entrance from Bergheimer Straße leads to a courtyard where a mezzanine level was added and covered with a glass roof. Other rooms and modern extensions house a hotel, restaurants, and offices.
In addition to event and conference spaces, the Altes Hallenbad has 3 restaurants:
The "urban KITCHEN" in the former boiler room offers a wide range of food and drinks.
The "KHAYAM" serves Persian-Iranian cuisine.
The "B 41 Kaffeekultur" complements the offerings with coffee, homemade cakes, and affordable breakfast.
