Schloss Horst in Gelsenkirchen, located at Turfstraße 21, is an impressive example of Renaissance architecture and is one of the oldest and most significant buildings of this era in Westphalia. Built between 1554 and 1572 by Rütger von der Horst and his wife Anna von Pallandt, it originally served as a four-winged castle complex.
Today, the castle houses an experience museum that takes visitors on an interactive journey back to the Renaissance. Here, guests can experience the construction history of the castle up close and dive into the living world of the 16th century.
