Along the way, he meets a dog, a cat, and a rooster, who share his looming fate. They join the donkey. Taken by his plan, they embark on the journey to the distant city. Because it's never too late for a career change! But the road is arduous, the bones tired, and so the four seek shelter in a hut along the way. The beginning of a cozy evening, if it weren't for the robbers who own the hut.

Besides the story of Jesus' birth, Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" is likely the most widely retold literary subject of the Advent season. The socially critical narrative about the old miser Ebenezer Scrooge, who is visited by four spirits on the eve of Christmas and through them rediscovers his humanity, is a classic. There is hardly a theater that has not already performed this work several times. So why a new version? Director and producer Martin Mühleis has celebrated great successes in recent years with stage adaptations of literary works. Together with composer Libor Síma, he has created a musical stage fairy tale for the two actors Samuel Finzi and Herbert Knaup. Its aesthetics are reminiscent of old black and white films and play with elements of literary revues. Through the music and clever lighting design, spaces are created - yet the literary text always plays the leading role, preserving the tempo, rhythm, and structure of the novella even in the reading version.

This story, first published in 1843, appears timeless and current. Especially in a time of egocentrism, with self-employed individuals and iPhones, the work of Charles Dickens emphasizes the value of charity and an empathetic approach towards each other. In the interpretation of Samuel Finzi and Herbert Knaup, the narrative, despite its moral tone, gains incredible liveliness. Both manage to bring out the typical, quirky British humor in a touching way in conjunction with the stage music. A wonderful Advent evening that prepares the audience for the upcoming Christmas season.

Operetta by Franz Lehár

A guest performance by the Johann Strauss Operetta Vienna

"The Merry Widow" is the most successful operetta in three acts by Franz Lehár. The premiere took place under the direction of the composer in 1905 at the Theater an der Wien in Vienna. Well-known titles such as "Lippen schweigen" (Silent Lips), "Da geh' ich zu Maxim" (There I go to Maxim), and "Ja, das Studium der Weiber ist schwer" (Yes, the study of women is hard) ensure an entertaining evening. Vocal soloists from Vienna, as well as the orchestra, choir, and ballet of the "Johann Strauss Operetta Vienna," present the exciting story of love and war with wonderful music in a classic production with magnificent costumes and traditional stage design.

Synopsis:
For family reasons, Count Danilo was not allowed to marry Hanna, a girl from the countryside. While he seeks to forget his troubles about this marriage prohibition with the grisettes, Hanna manages to marry the wealthy banker Glawari, who dies on their wedding night. Hanna and Danilo meet again at the Parisian Embassy Ball in Pontevedro. Hanna is now a rich widow and every man wants to marry her, not because of her beauty and intelligence, but solely for her money. Danilo's love for Hanna is reignited, but he is afraid to confess it to her - fearing that he too would be accused of being only interested in her money. However, the situation becomes even more complicated. Hanna announces her engagement to Camille de Rosillon to protect Valencienne, who claims to be "a respectable woman," but flirts with Camille and is almost caught by her husband. Only after this incident is resolved, and Hanna pretends that she cannot dispose of her inheritance, can Hanna and Danilo finally embrace each other. All's well that ends well!

1984, written from 1946 to 1948 and published in June 1949, is a dystopian novel by George Orwell (actually Eric Arthur Blair) depicting a totalitarian surveillance state in the year 1984. The main character of the story is Winston Smith, a simple member of the dictatorial ruling, fictional Socialist Party of England, on which the ruling political ideology of Engsoc (English Socialism, original Ingsoc) is based. Despite ubiquitous surveillance, Smith seeks to secure his privacy and learn something about the true past that is concealed by the Party through extensive historical falsification. As a result, he comes into conflict with the system, which captures him, tortures him, and subjects him to brainwashing. The stage text and production are by Paul Stebbings TNT Theater, who has created and presented over 150 works during his long career. hr-Bigband with Nils Wogram (trombone) as a soloist

The hr-Bigband pays tribute to Albert Mangelsdorff. For half a century, the world-famous trombonist was considered the most important ambassador of Jazz made in Germany. His artistic legacy lives on beyond his death. In the jazz orchestral interpretation of his album "Trilogue," the trombone shows what it is capable of in the right hands! Whenever a wind instrument sounds like two, Albert Mangelsdorff's influence can be heard. His technique of being able to play chords on the trombone through overtones has long become the standard of a good jazz wind player. However, this was very different in the 1970s: the polyphonic playing style, developed in the 19th century, had fallen into oblivion. Albert Mangelsdorff, with the help of it and his outstanding improvisational ability, became the first wind soloist to play entire concerts unaccompanied. In Jim McNeely's arranged interpretation of Mangelsdorff's album "Trilogue," virtuoso trombone encounters grooving bass. Nils Wogram conjures up incredible tones from his instrument as a soloist. The sound of the entire big band gives the pieces originally recorded by a trio a unique radiance.

Experience Camille Saint-Saëns' zoological fantasy "Carnival of the Animals" as a cheerful musical-literary evening for adults and children aged 10 and above.
The composer would have preferred to moderate the animal antics himself, but unfortunately, he is unable to do so. Instead, he has written a humorous letter for the audience, which will be read by the well-known actor Rufus Beck. Beck presents and moderates the classic piece by the French composer Camille Saint-Saëns in a new form: captivating, humorous, and highly amusing! The texts for the evening were contributed by the Italian star author Alessandro Baricco. The musical part features over a dozen vividly composed animal characters such as proud marching lions, wild donkeys, cheerfully clucking chickens, turtles dancing the Cancan, and many more. Finally, all the characters gather for a virtuosic potpourri finale performed on two pianos to conclude the work.

Eva Karl Faltermeier finds out where we all want to be picked up, where the ride is going, and what it costs us. An amusing journey - through the twists and turns of life - where every second counts.
Eva Karl Faltermeier, born in 1983, is a single mother of two children and a trained journalist. With her first stage program "Es geht dahi", she convinced critics and audience alike. She was awarded the Senkrechtstarter Prize of the Bavarian Cabaret Prize, the Newcomer Prize of the Hessian Cabaret Prize, and the Prix Pantheon. The city of Regensburg honored her with the "Cultural Sponsorship Prize 2020". For the trained journalist, the greatest goal is to entertain with stories. Eva Karl Faltermeier was a blog author, and lecturer. She writes columns (Bayern2) and hosts her own indie interview podcast ("Es lafft") for which she received the Culture Prize of the Oberpfalz District in 2021.

Arnd Zeigler presents his third stage program "Immer Glück ist Können" on tour. The title says it all because after almost 200 live performances, it can be rightly claimed: It's not just luck - skill must also be at play.
Those familiar with the TV show "Zeiglers wunderbare Welt des Fußballs" know what to expect from the live version. Tough guys, cult phrases, and plenty of own goals - a composition by and for football fans. The declared aim remains to get to the bottom of the fascination for football. Not so easy, as commercialization is growing, the rulebook is becoming more complex, and in the end, Bayern always wins. But with football, it's like with Darth Vader: there's still a lot of good in it. Who could convey this better than Germany's "fairest professional," Arnd Zeigler? History is written by men – at least that's the impression given by the history books. Women only appear as marginal figures in them, or within the circles of famous men. The achievements of women were generally not only ignored by male chroniclers but were also always achieved under difficult conditions: poor educational opportunities, limited career possibilities, dependence on spouses, health risks from frequent pregnancies, lack of recognition in public. Many reasons could still be listed.
Told from a female perspective, the quiet literary revue "Three Women from Germany" recounts two hundred years of German history through the life stories of three female writers, performed by the renowned actresses Barbara Auer, Ann-Kathrin Kramer, and Claudia Michelsen.
Erika Mann, who with her ensemble "Pepper Mill," her sharp-tongued political cabaret in Zurich, nightly stirred up room battles with Swiss Nazi supporters, evolved throughout her life from a pleasure-seeking bohemian to a politically thinking and active woman. Decades earlier, the provocative performances of the great poet Else Lasker-Schüler, the Jewish writer expelled from the German Reich, were similarly incendiary. And Bettina von Arnim, nee Brentano, provoked the bourgeois and aristocratic establishment of her time with her social indictments and her advocacy for the poor and oppressed – at the same time, she engaged in witty conversations with famous contemporaries in the Berlin attic salon of Rahel Varnhagen.

Young Music Hessen gGmbH

The State Youth Choir (LJC) Hessen was founded in 2008 on the initiative of the Hessian State Government, and has since united talented singers between the ages of 16 and 27 from all over Hessen. The choir's over 80 members, who were selected through statewide auditions, come together in changing line-ups two to three times a year for multi-day working phases and rehearsal days.
Since April 2023, Axel Pfeiffer has been the Artistic Director of the State Youth Choir Hessen. Additionally, the choir collaborates regularly with guest conductors from both Germany and abroad. The working phases are accompanied by individual vocal training sessions. Since its inception, the choir's two vocal coaches, Prof. Katharina Kutsch and Claudia Ramroth, have continuously contributed to the vocal development of the singers. The sacred and secular repertoire developed during the rehearsal phases ranges from Renaissance works to romantic and contemporary compositions as well as demanding pop arrangements. The working phases are usually concluded with one to two concerts.
Since January 2022, the choir has been one of four state youth ensembles under the sponsorship of the state-owned Young Music Hessen gGmbH. It is funded by the Hessian Ministry of Science and Art. The patron is the Hessian Prime Minister Boris Rhein.
