wrest returns to Germany with new music!
Word is spreading about this unpretentious, deeply poetic Edinburgh indie rock that recalls Frightened Rabbit, We Were Promised Jetpacks, or The National, yet has long taken on its own distinctive form.
It's hardly surprising that their music resonates not just in Scotland, but across the UK, Europe, and the USA – after all, this very sound has led the band from small stages to sold-out headline shows at the legendary Barrowland Ballroom (Glasgow) and the iconic Usher Hall in Edinburgh, each with over 2000 fans.
The current album Everything’s Nothing Forever Again (2024) continues to make waves and has recently allowed the band to play to full, often sold-out club shows in Germany and across Europe.
Perhaps Scotland's most promising independent indie rock export – with new songs in tow, there will be some performances in 2026 here in the country:

ENGLISH
Poetic lyricism and soaring guitars meet in songs that combine crafted songwriting with heartfelt Edinburgh indie rock, reminiscent of bands like Frightened Rabbit, Snow Patrol, The National, We Were Promised Jetpacks, and Idlewild. A growing following across Scotland, the UK, Europe, and the United States has taken the band to new heights, with sold-out headline shows at the famous Glasgow Barrowland Ballroom and Edinburgh's iconic Usher Hall seeing wrest storm some of the biggest stages in their home country.
A growing international audience is taking wrest to new stages, no longer the best-kept secret in indie rock circles. The release of the 2024 album Everything's Nothing Forever Again saw the band reach new heights on Spotify, drawing legions of devoted new fans from further afield.
With a run of sold-out headline shows across Germany and the Netherlands under their belt, as well as future tour plans for Australia and the US, wrest stand poised for bigger stages across the world, as one of Scotland’s most promising independent breakthrough acts.
