You can expect a pre-Christmas evening filled with texts and pieces of various kinds. The range extends from reflective and sentimental Christmas pieces to satirical ones. Texts by Gernhardt, Enzensberger, Skácel, Brecht, Roth, Kästner, and others harmonize with heartwarming and sensorially appealing pieces on the theme of Christmas. The Frankfurt Xmas Jazz Trio will bring to the Christmas Special concert evening songs such as “Jingle Bells”, “Christmas Song”, “Santa Claus”, “I’m Dreaming Of A White Christmas”, “Ihr Hirten erwachet”, and “Ich steh an Deiner Krippen hier”, among others.

Karmen Mikovic, a renowned moderator (HR, WDR), singer, pianist, and composer, is active in various jazz projects (including “jazzgems” and the Frankfurt program “Harlem am Main”). In 2022, she performed this pre-Christmas concert with the Frankfurt Xmas Jazz Trio with great success.
The Frankfurt Xmas Jazz Trio, prominently featuring Roman Babik (piano), Ingo Senst (bass), and Thomas Cremer (drums), will play heartwarming and sensorially appealing pieces on the theme of Christmas (including “Jingle Bells,” “Christmas Song,” “Santa Claus,” “I’m Dreaming Of A White Christmas,” “Ihr Hirten erwachet,” and “Ich steh an Deiner Krippen hier”). The music arrangement is provided by drummer Thomas Cremer.

Inspired by many knight novels, he chooses his neighbor Sancho Panza as his squire and sets out to make the world a better place as the self-proclaimed knight Don Quijote. They see castles in inns, sheep herds become armies, and mills turn into giants. They fight their way from one absurd adventure to the next, continually failing yet never losing courage. Because Don Quijote wants to be a hero! But is it enough to pretend to be a hero to actually be one?
The actors also have to deal with failure; they step in for each other, take on new roles and new perspectives, and fight for their version of Don Quijote.
Does imagination still have the power to change the world? Does theater hold this power?
And if so, what stories should then be shown on the boards that mean the world?

On the occasion of 40 years of Chawwerusch Theater, Chawwerusch dedicates itself to these questions and takes a closer look at “Don Quijote,” this champion of utopia. With a large ensemble and music – comedic, tragic, heartfelt.

What the future holds is something everyone wants to know. Many things come as a surprise, not always positively. The political outlook is bleak. Therefore, we must take care of the future, as we will spend the rest of our lives in it.
We present stimulating appetizers from the theater future as well as viewpoints on cultured debating and persistent involvement.

Frieda, an old lady, is angry at her neighbor, her brother, and humanity in general. She wishes that a comet would smash the Earth and extirpate mankind. And indeed, her curse comes true: The world will end in twenty days. Frieda desperately tries to undo everything.

However, the apocalypse turns out to be a fantastic business idea. Adventurous projects arise. But many people refuse to accept that everything will soon be over. They prefer to deal with their small everyday problems or just want to have fun before life is over.

And yet, in the end, there is hope for salvation.

For the umpteenth time, the Theater unter der Dauseck is our guest, this time with a darkly absurd comedy about our world and daily disasters.

The two are adults! ADULTS! No more children. They have long left their old stories behind, the good ones as well as the not-so-good ones. And today, they can certainly handle their conflicts and feelings a thousand times better – because they are ADULTS. At least they believed so…
But now they sit completely desolate in front of their audience and have to explain themselves. Justify the escalation, his black eye, her torn shirt. This is all the more embarrassing, because they actually came here to set a good example. How could it all go so wrong?!

BEEFZ is a confrontational investigation into youth readiness for violence and also takes on a no less aggression-ridden adult world.

"Unter der Weide" - under this motto, the Ensemble Roter Vogel presents a musical-literary song cycle as well as some supplementary poems.
Peter Schraß has written the music and texts. He moderates the program, recites, and punctually enhances the arrangements with the diatonic accordion.
About two-thirds of the songs and texts are in the Palatine dialect. They are characterized by sensitive and deeply moving, ballad-like poetry, often interrupted by biting Palatine street satire, but always with a great distance from folk-style wine-Palatinate romance. Edgar Zimmermann interprets the songs with a warm baritone voice. He excellently grasps the musical nuances, bringing out the complexity of the content and each word with sensitivity. Benno Burkhart masterfully accompanies on guitar. He is known for his jazz improvisations and countless performances in various combinations.

Five voices, countless sound worlds, an unmistakable sound

The award-winning ensemble Lylac presents a mix of original compositions and specially arranged jazz and pop classics: new and well-known merge into an exciting program. Lylac combines modern sounds with pure timeless a cappella sound. Hits from Earth, Wind & Fire, jazz classics by Duke Ellington, and their own compositions resonate in exclusive harmonic fullness and rhythmic finesse. Enjoy a performance that couldn't be more unique and diverse! In February 2024, Lylac already thrilled the audience in a sold-out Villa Wieser. Now they are stopping again in Herxheim on their 2025 tour! Lylac was founded in 2021 in Mainz. The five singers came together at the Mainz Conservatory through their shared interest in vocal jazz music. They are inspired by the style of other vocal groups such as the Real Group or the King's Singers, as well as by traditional and contemporary jazz. From all these influences, the quintet creates its unmistakable sound character.
