Sing, Sing, Sing – when the three singers of SWING TANZEN VERBOTEN and their quartet swing together, there is so much joy in playing that even the biggest movement-dodgers have fun – and whoever can, dances!!
The swings of SWING TANZEN VERBOTEN are returning to the Kulturhaus abraxas – because this is where the band was born, a link between the house's past as a Nazi barracks and its later use as a Recreation Center for the U.S. Army.
The band brings American all-time favorites, a few brand-new arrangements, and of course a lot of German swing – music that was denounced here as "degenerate" until 1945 and that for many Germans became a symbol of freedom and a new way of life with the 8th of May.
A stroll with Augsburg's most famous swing band through the music that stands like no other for (survival) art and exuberant joy of living, and that still brings a lot of fun today – swing dancing is expressly desired!

Fancy a musical dreamliner? Then please board, fasten your seatbelt, take off, and let yourself be entertained! Your flight attendants: three charming ladies with charisma, humor, and a certain swing in their voices. They call themselves The Airlettes and live their dream of flying in their own unique way. They take their audience on musical high-flying excursions. "Close harmony" is their favored and perfected style, and the swing era is their preferred travel time. With overflowing temperament and burning curiosity in their luggage, they drift from destination to time, style to genre, from jazz to rockabilly, or simply from old to new and back again. The Swing Orchestra Hannover invites you to a Big-Band-Christmas concert at the CD Kaserne Celle on the 3rd Advent.

Shortly before Christmas, we want to put you in a cheerful Christmas mood with many Big Band classics and swing arrangements of well-known Christmas songs, as well as with contemplative music pieces.

The Swing Orchestra Hannover is a leisure orchestra with a special, unique lineup: In addition to the classic Big Band, flutes and clarinets are added, rounding out the band's sound. Each piece is therefore a tailor-made arrangement for this orchestra.

Since 1987, around 25 musicians have been playing together under the direction of Volker Schulz - and they want not only to entertain the audience well but also to have fun playing music themselves. And fun should certainly not be lacking in such a leisure ensemble - especially at Christmas.

Christmas is surely coming. And together with our guests, we want to get in the spirit of the holiday season in various ways. Of course, with music as well. Jazz fans should not miss the first performance of Chris Hopkins' Swinging Christmas.

INTERNATIONALLY CELEBRATED

Chris Hopkins was born in 1972 in Princeton (New Jersey). Equally skilled on piano and alto saxophone, he is one of the busiest artists in the international jazz scene – not least as the leader of the successful ensemble "Echoes of Swing," which has been in unchanged formation for over 20 years and is internationally celebrated for its innovative approach to jazz tradition. He is also celebrated every year for his very special Christmas program. Chris Hopkins brings all the good gifts that one wishes for at Christmas, namely a sense of style, a way of life, and swing.

The German-American from Bochum is a guide who navigates through the Christmas day's joys, avoiding all the pitfalls of holiday aesthetics. How does he do that, the jazz pianist by God's grace? Like this: He comes with a band that can swing like no other since the angels danced above the stable of Bethlehem. He comes with a singer whose voice can do what few can since the angels sang her Hosanna, and he comes with a program that poses the question of what actually came first: the Swinging Christmas or this very special holiday.

Wüste Welle BIG BAND - Christmas Swing - Songs, Pop, Ballads & Blues

The WW BIG BAND from Tübingen will perform at their concert in Albstadt a charming music mix of Christmas Swing, songs, pop, ballads & blues, which is as festive as it is exhilarating.

The vocal part will be delivered by Sigrun Schumacher, who shines through years of stage experience and professional finesse, as well as by the Munich singer and entertainer Teddy Schmacht, who dazzles with his versatile baritone voice ranging between Sinatra-style and pop.

Special guests include saxophonist Arno Haas and New York trombonist Justus Heher.

The audience can look forward to an energetic concert, a celebration of big band music. With music in the tradition of Frank Sinatra and Barbra Streisand, along with newer pieces from pop and blues, nothing stands in the way of a diverse musical conclusion to the year full of festive nostalgia. Conducted by Lothar Landenberger and Günter Flumm from Albstadt.

Since 2011, the WW BIG BAND, founded as the first big band of a free radio station in Germany, has been making waves in the Southern German music scene – and they do so with passion and energy.

Right! That would be like a Christmas tree without ornaments. This year we are looking forward to the band BLUES DELUXE again.

Blues Deluxe serves Rhythm & Blues in the sound of Chicago, Memphis, and Detroit. Bass and drums push towards the dance floor, a saxophone blows funky riffs into the groove. With driving swing numbers and soulful blues gems, the band delivers fine entertainment on every stage.

Starting with classic Chicago Blues, they now play a danceable mix of blues, soul, and a pinch of funk - Rhythm and Blues. "Only when the feet start to tap, and no one can stay seated, are we at our goal with our show!"

A captivating concert show in the livestyle of 1920s Berlin.
The Berlin of the 1920s fascinates to this day: zest for life, a desire for freedom,
emancipation and glamour met with excess, nightlife and musical ecstasy.
During this time, the capital also became musically a melting pot – as the swing that originated in
New Orleans conquered Europe via Chicago and New York, plunging
Berlin into a true whirlwind of rhythm and joy of life.
BABYLON SWING – New York meets Berlin brings this explosive era back to life.
The King Of Swing Orchestra, under the direction of Peter Fleischhauer,
presents a high-class concert show that connects American swing with German
hits of that time – energetic, stylish, and full of passion.
The musicians live the swing with palpable dedication, supported by vocal
soloists, dance performances, and a specially developed light design. Classics
from Gershwin, Ellington, Goodman, Weill, Hollaender, and many other
composers merge into a musical experience full of dynamism and
brilliance.

swing concert shows of our days – an evening that unleashes, excites, and resonates long after.

German-Italian Swing Quartet - From Benny to Django

Everything must swing! In keeping with this motto, the German-Italian Swing Quartett combines classics from the Benny Goodman era with French jazz waltzes, Brazilian choro, and Bossa Nova. Guitar, clarinet, and accordion blend into an elegant, chamber music sound full of joy of play, virtuosity, and finest improvisation.

The quartet arose from a chance encounter between guitarist Jörg Seidel and accordionist Roberto Gervasi, who hails from Palermo. Together with clarinetist Nicola Giammarinaro and bassist Jean-Philippe Wadle, they formed an ensemble that already captivated audiences night after night with its first tour, leading to standing ovations.

At the center is Roberto Gervasi, who was awarded "Ambassador of the Accordion in the World" in 2023 in Castelfidardo – the world capital of the accordion – and is considered one of Europe's most distinguished jazz accordionists. He meets with Nicola Giammarinaro, a clarinetist of exceptional expressiveness and stylistic diversity. Together with Jörg Seidel's rhythmic guitar work and Jean-Philippe Wadle's precise bass playing, a fresh, transparent swing sound emerges that combines classic swing tradition with European and South American influences.

On this evening, Martin Schmid invites you to experience his passion and love for swing.
He sings and dances his way through an entertaining program full of delicious, evergreen melodies and songs that come from a time when music was still swinging and people still trotted the fox.
Jazz enthusiasts will also get their money's worth with the exciting solos of his fabulous band, as Daniel Mark Eberhard hits the keys, Walter Bittner stirs the drums, Uli Fiedler plucks the bass, and Stephan Holstein plays the saxophone and clarinet into the hearts of the guests.
For Martin Schmid has learned from the best: As a double bassist, he worked with the swing legends like Max Greger or Hazy Osterwald while with Hugo Strasser’s “Hot Five” and will now carry on their legacy in his own way.

jazz club combo in the look of the 1920s/30s brings a captivating sound that gets every audience dancing, swaying, and listening. The renowned jazz musicians, who usually perform with Tom Gaebel, the WDR Big Band, and Dick Brave, bring danceable music that brings the “Golden Swing Era” back to life.

With hits from Louis Armstrong to Benny Goodman as well as evergreens from Ella Fitzgerald to Nat King Cole, they authentically revive times long past. The charming singer and entertainer Miss Katie skillfully and casually guides the evening and captivates with her voice and stage presence.
