The youth friends Mulo Francel and Didi Lowka founded the ensemble Quadro Nuevo in 1996. Quadro Nuevo - 30 Years around the World!

The Mediterranean lightness of being has always shaped the music of Quadro Nuevo: Tango and French Valse Musette, Aegean myth-melodies, daring travel songs along a sun-drenched coastal road, oriental grooves, Brazilian flavour, and Neapolitan hits flow playfully into each other. Quadro Nuevo was founded in 1996 in Chiemgau. The spirited full-blooded musicians have since toured the countries of this world and given around 4,000 concerts. Their tone-poems are created on the road: The band draws from the magic of extensive travels – from the streets of Bari to the highlands of the Balkans, to the colors of Bangalore and the nights of Buenos Aires. The venues of their performances are as diverse as the roots of their music.

Whether at renowned festivals or in halls like Carnegie Hall – Quadro Nuevo meets its audience with the same dedication. The playful virtuosos equally love free action: sailing for weeks through the Aeolian island world, performing as street musicians in Mediterranean squares, or challenging dancers as a nighttime tango band. From all these encounters, music emerges that can give a home to the hopes and longings of people. Quadro Nuevo has received the ECHO twice as "Best Live Act of the Year," the German Record Critics' Award, several German Jazz Awards, and a gold record.
