Experience Hesse’s most famous guitarist performing with the hr-Bigband for the first time! Ali Neander is not only the musical mastermind behind the iconic Rodgau Monotones, but also a blues, rock, and fusion guitarist widely admired in the scene. His compositions sound fresh, with a gripping groove and a respectful nod to the 1970s, without copying them.
Ali Neander never thought that he would one day make a living from playing guitar. However, the Rodgau Monotones, founded in 1977, brought him breakthrough success, allowing him to drop out of university to fully dedicate himself to music. With them, he quickly found himself on large stages and festivals. But that wasn't enough: Throughout his career, Ali Neander has founded many side projects and experimented with various genres. The list of colleagues he has worked with is impressive: Kevin Coyne, Sabrina Setlur, Glashaus, and the Rilke Project have all engaged him. With Moses Pelham, initially not entirely serious, the Rödelheim Hartreim Project emerged, leading to decades of collaboration between Pelham and Neander. However, all of his personal projects revolve around jazz. In 2010 and 2014, Ali Neander released his fusion albums in collaboration with bassist Hellmut Hattler. Ten years later, "Boomer Bends" followed, featuring numerous guest musicians alongside the two. With "Blues Bang," he founded his own blues band. And in 2020, he released a very unusual project: the first album of the "Ali Neander Organ Quartet." Now, he celebrates his big band debut with us!
