30 years Cover up
The Pforzheim band Cover Up is celebrating its 30th anniversary on November 14, 2026, at the Congress Centrum Pforzheim. Since the mid-nineties, the band has represented a type of cover band that never settled for just playing songs. Instead, classics were dissected, like mechanics taking apart a race car, reassembled, and put back on stage with a considerable portion of their own attitude. Cover Up was never just a cover band; they did not treat songs like museum exhibits to be dusted off carefully and reverently replicated.
What began in 1996 as a side project quickly evolved into a mainstay in the Southern German live music scene. Since then, Cover Up has been performing at city festivals, clubs, and festival stages, with a repertoire that ranges from rock icons to pop evergreens, but always carrying their unmistakable band sound: powerful, direct, and sometimes even with a necessary wink.
After 30 years, the band's drive is still the live experience. While some other cover bands glide through their sets polished and pressed, Cover Up relies on spontaneity - extended guitar and keyboard solos, surprising song mashups, and a deliberate closeness to the audience that is meant to evoke a sweaty garage club show rather than a routine nostalgia program.
For their 30th anniversary, the band is excited to look back and plans a special anniversary show with many guests from their long band history and, of course, a setlist that traverses more than three decades of rock and pop history, always loud, passionate, and always ready to turn the next live concert into a lasting moment.
