Respect! Die Würde des Menschen ist unantastbar - Rock-Show über Songs die Geschichte geschrieben haben
The rock show "Respect!" presents selected songs that have made history: Like a fly in amber, many songs encapsulate societal and political hopes for a better life. They are musical witnesses that express the experiences of people's striving for a more just society. Songs that celebrate the human being in its diversity, which give strength and energy, which inspire courage and simultaneously provide joy, and which remind us of three fundamental human abilities: empathy, joy, and wit. "Respect! Die Würde des Menschen ist unantastbar" is a musical journey through time that begins far in the past: It starts in the German cabaret of the 1930s of the last century. Fast forward a few decades, Udo Lindenberg, Herbert Grönemeyer, die Ärzte, and Jan Delay are at the center, who held a mirror to German society in their own ways. After that, the musical journey crosses the Atlantic to the songs of the American civil rights movement, to musicians who have shown political stance like Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday, or Bob Dylan, and who still express themselves on social issues today, for example Alice Cooper, Green Day, and Taylor Swift. In all of this, of course, good humor is not to be missed, for "Respect!" is as important as it is a grand show that is simply fun!
