Play based on the autobiographical book of the same name by Heidi Benneckenstein.
Germany, late 1990s, an idyllic village near Munich. In Heidi's family, time has stood still. Here, mobile phones are called hand phones, HipHop is only secretly listened to, and Poland cannot be visited as it is deemed an "illegally occupied area," because: Heidi's dad is a Nazi. She is sent to conspiratorial summer camps of the "Homeland Loyal German Youth" and is prepared for a life in the right-wing hate milieu through drill, beatings, and rewards. This bears fruit: As she gets older, she participates in right-wing rallies and incites against migrants. All of this is normal for her. After all, it was her father who encouraged her to be a social troublemaker. When Heidi meets people outside her circle, she begins to doubt: What distinguishes her from all the other teenagers? Into what world was she born? Is there a division into good and evil? What does she have to decide for and against?
With the adaptation of the dropout novel, the Young Landestheater Tübingen highlights the abysses of an ideological parallel world and shows how important it is to help young people escape from extremist influences.

When you look at the band photo, questions arise…

Who exactly is Uwe, who is the other guy with the beard, and why is it called “2Mädchen und Uwe”? That’s Ingo on bass, Maja on guitar and vocals, and Uwe on drums.

The band describes its music as German-language rock, pop, and blues with original lyrics and compositions by frontwoman Maja Borm. Straightforward, down-to-earth, charming, exciting, humorous, lovable, and unpretentious.

Vocals, guitar, bass, and drums are sometimes gentle, sometimes truly “full on”! The songs shine through the space that is given to the well-thought-out lyrics.

Since 2019, one can occasionally listen to the sounds of the trio. In 2023, 2Mädchen und Uwe was crowned the most popular (original) Berlin band in the legendary SO36 and secured 3rd place in a European band competition across Germany. After a longer creative break, they are now back! Because… This music definitely belongs on stage!
