Susi Raith & die Spießer - Wilde Zeiten

„Home is not just a place. Home is a feeling.“

With their new program “Lieder aus unsra Eckn,” Susi Raith and die Spießer take their audience on a musical journey through the small and big stories of life. Through alleys and taverns, across dusty country roads and modern highways, past memories, encounters, and moments that one never quite forgets.
At the center are Susi Raith, well-known as one of the popular Raith sisters, and her husband Jochen Goricnik, guitarist, bassist, and long-time musician of the Ringlstetter band. Together, they are the creative minds of the band, writing a large part of the songs and lyrics, transforming experiences, observations, and imaginings into music that hits right in the heart and sometimes even in the diaphragm.
Susi and Jochen are supported by two musicians: Sebastian “Stitzi” Stitzinger, who plays keyboard and accordion, and Max Seelos, who, with his sense of groove, dynamics, and fine humor, forms the musical foundation of the band.

Musically, die Spießer remain true to their unmistakable style and yet surprise time and again. Local sounds meet modern arrangements, fine melodies meet driving rhythms, dialect meets timeless stories. Sometimes it sounds like a summer evening in the village square, sometimes like a longing for faraway places, sometimes like rock ’n’ roll that has accidentally landed in the Upper Palatinate and decided to stay.
Between the songs, there will, of course, be storytelling, laughter, and sharing little anecdotes. Because some experiences are only had by those who travel a lot – while others happen right in front of one’s own doorstep.
The songs come directly from life itself: honest, humorous, sometimes cheeky, sometimes poetic, and always with a loving gaze upon people and their peculiarities. They address themes of togetherness and freedom, change and roots, old stories and new times.
“Lieder aus unsra Eckn” is a program for listening, singing along, chuckling, and enjoying. A musical evening full of a sense of home – without home kitsch. Full of heart – without pathos.
