Speichergruppe Rettungsboot präsentiert: Arrested Denial, Fornhorst und Violent Instinct
Violent Instinct:
Violent Instinct from Hamburg combines the spirit of 80s punk with modern street and Oi! punk – loud, melodic, and uncompromising. Led by frontwoman Aga, whose powerful voice oscillates between tubes and melody, the band stands for a clear stance, forceful songs, and an exhilarating live performance.
Arrested Denial:
The Hamburg punk rockers Arrested Denial represent streetpunk with catchy melodies, occasional offbeats, and trumpets appearing here and there. With songs like "Nationalisten aller Länder" from their last album "Frei.Tal," the band has not only found its place in numerous playlists around the world but has also positioned itself politically as clearly antifascist. Their third album "Nirgendwo angekommen" will be released on December 5, 2025, on Bakraufarfita Records. Guest singers include Steff from Alarmsignal and Tex Brasket from Slime and Teluxe. The band was founded in late 2009 in Hamburg. After releasing the EP "Church on Friday" in 2010 on their own and available for free download, Mad Butcher Records released the second album "Our best record so far" in early 2013. A split 7" with the Serbian punk rock band The Bayonets followed in December of the same year. In July 2017, the current long player "Frei.Tal" was finally released. The reviews for the album in fanzines like Ox, Plastic Bomb, and many online portals have been overwhelmingly positive, as was the case with its predecessors.
In the two and a half years following the release of "Frei.Tal," over 100 concerts took place. Thus, Arrested Denial went on a two-week tour in China in June 2017, playing in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong, among others. This was already the second major foreign tour for the Hamburg band after they traveled across the Balkans in 2013 for two weeks and several thousand kilometers. In 2018, a 16-day European tour with the Street Dogs followed, and in 2019 another two-week European tour with the Angelic Upstarts.
In addition to the tours, Arrested Denial has played numerous other shows in recent years. For example, in 2015 they were personally invited by the Broilers on their Noir tour as well as with bands like the Adolescents, Los Fastidios, Menace, Sick Of It All, Rantanplan, the Kassierern, Dritte Wahl, The Oppressed, and Agnostic Front. Furthermore, numerous festival appearances were held, including at the Rebellion Festival in Amsterdam, the Back To Future in Glaubitz, the Czech Fest Pod Parou, and the Störfaktor Festival in Zwickau.
Fornhorst:
Fornhorst plays melodic punk rock with partly biting, partly very personal German lyrics: "Punk rock for heart, brain, and hips," as the band calls it. The band owes its name to an old farmhouse in Schleswig-Holstein. Here lives singer and guitarist Normen aka Chappi (Eu!-Krampf, Aside, Schneller.). He originally wanted to start a small solo project with acoustic guitar. The plan was to play a bit of guitar in the favorite pub, sing personal lyrics, and receive one or two free beers in return. However, making music alone became boring over time, so Normen looked for companions and found Toni (guitar), B.A. (bass), and Timon (drums). In 2020, the first EP was released under the name "Schneller." In April 2022, "Soundtrack meines Lebens" followed, and in May 2024, the first album "Leben ohne Scheiss," which received very positive reactions, was finally released. The second long player of the band is planned for 2026.
Until then, the band knows how to impress especially live. Every performance is like a demolition party among friends. Thus, the quartet has already had the opportunity to perform with bands like Wonk Unit, The Movement, The Vageenas, as well as with Dr. Ring Ding or The Originaltors.
