The Pablo Held Trio is currently one of the most vibrant and significant formations in European jazz.
It transcends the boundaries between composition and improvisation by forgoing predetermined structures – a sequence of themes and a set way of presenting them – during concerts. The risk of radical spontaneity has given the trio wings for years, making it a model of an aesthetic that can be found only in a few artists. The cohesion of the Pablo Held Trio is based on friendship and a creative desire to constantly explore new territory. The artistic weight and independence of the three exceptional musicians is a draw for an expanding circle of congenial musicians from both the European and American continents, who frequently join the trio.

Pulsar Trio

An "sensual states of suspension, the intoxication of free fall and the gliding over wide surfaces" reminds Deutschlandfunk Kultur of the music of the Pulsar Trio – a description that also fits the fourth studio album We Smell in Stereo, released in 2023, extremely well. Its cover is adorned with sharks, as sharks do not smell in mono; their sense of smell works in stereo.

In the pursuit of the perfect musical moment, the trio instinctively acts as a single organism with a developed, shared, and unwavering sense for their unique sound cosmos over the years. The extraordinary and likely unique combination of drums, piano, and sitar allows the trio to consistently explore musical new territories on a seemingly narrow ridge.

The result is always playful and virtuosic, oscillating between instrumental ecstasy, intimate introspection, and sensitive sound experiments: a fusion of three individual musical characters with very different backgrounds, ranging from pop with grand gestures, through GDR punk and noise, jazz, Bach, minimal music, to the classical sitar tradition from India.

Their live qualities have already been demonstrated by the Creole award winners at countless concerts. They have performed at the Leverkusen Jazz Days, the Fusion Festival, in Glastonbury, at the Rudolstadt Festival and the Delhi International Jazz Festival, at the Kulturarena Jena, as well as the İzmir European Jazz Festival.

Tingvall Trio - PAX

For more than two decades, the Tingvall Trio has been a reliable guarantee for captivating piano trio jazz with catchy melodies and powerful rhythms. Their productions have been awarded the Jazz Award in Gold eight times and once in Platinum. Their current album "Pax" is once again successful in the pop charts and achieves top positions in the jazz charts. With sold-out concerts all over Europe, the three Hamburg residents have built a special fan base.

The album title "Pax" has been chosen thoughtfully, Martin Tingvall explains: "In a world full of unrest and increasing social polarization, it has been particularly important to me to set a sign for peace with our music. Already with our album 'Birds', we tried to musically reflect the disturbing developments of our time. Since then, much has continued to change for the worse in the world. As a musician, I don’t want to stand by silently. PAX is meant to provoke thought, invite calm – and be a clear sign for peace.
