This season, Julia Fischer also curates two Sunday matinées at the bosco, where she presents her own selection of top-tier young artists. This time with Anton Carus, violin.
The world-class violinist Julia Fischer not only plays on the biggest stages in the world, she is also a recipient of the Federal Cross of Merit, has received awards such as the internationally renowned Gramophone Award or the German Culture Prize, and is a professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. Her particular passion for supporting young talent led her to establish her own series in her hometown in 2024: two Sunday matinées at the bosco, where she presents a selection of high-caliber young artists.
Anton Carus, born in 2008 in California, has lived in Munich since 2016. He started playing the violin at the age of three and began taking lessons from Simone and Peter Michielsen in Puchheim after moving. He soon became a member of the Puchheim Youth Chamber Orchestra (of which he is now the concertmaster) and its associated string academy. As a 9- and 10-year-old, he took leading roles in Heinrich Klug’s children’s concerts with the Munich Philharmonic in over 20 concerts. Among many other awards, he won first prize at the international Louis Spohr competition for young violinists in Weimar. He has been a young student at the Munich Music Academy since 2009, first with the Michielsens and Prof. Christoph Poppen, and now with Julia Fischer. During the summer holidays, he has been taking lessons since 2019 with Martin Chalifour, the principal concertmaster of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. His string quartet (the Antonín Quartet) won not only a first prize but also several special prizes at the federal competition "Youth Makes Music" 2023, including the Herman Abs Prize for the best interpretation of a piece by Beethoven, for which the quartet was able to give a concert at the Beethoven House in Bonn, which was also broadcast by WDR.
Tatiana Chernichka was born in Novosibirsk, Russia, into a musical family. She received her training at the music school of the M.I. Glinka Conservatory for gifted children in her hometown, where she was taught by Professor Mary Lebenson. Since 2003, she has lived in Munich, where she completed her studies with Professor Eliso Virsaladze. She graduated in 2011 with honors from her master’s program with Professor Klaus Kaufmann at the “Mozarteum” Salzburg. Tatiana Chernichka is the winner of numerous competitions, including the “Busoni” competition in Bolzano, the “Queen Elisabeth” competition in Brussels, and the “Maria Canals” competition in Barcelona. From 2009 to 2023, she held a teaching position for accompaniment at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. Additionally, she has accompanied several master classes by renowned professors such as Ana Chumachenco, Natalia Gutman, Julia Fischer, and Boris Kuschnir, and has served as an official piano partner at international competitions. These include the “Henri Marteau” competition in Hof, the "Zhuhai Mozart" competition in China, and the “Queen Elisabeth” competition in Brussels. Since 2022, she has been a lecturer at the Stella Private University in Feldkirch, Austria, and since 2023 at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. Her debut CD featuring 24 études by Chopin was released in 2018 by ARS Produktion.
