Die Adam Riese Show
Die Adam Riese Show comes of age
On its 18th birthday, Lilo Wanders meets guests from Berlin and New York
Eighteen years ago, Münster's talk show institution, the Adam Riese Show, was born. At this age, one becomes of legal age in this country. This is to be celebrated on June 1st. To mark the coming of age, the icon of enlightening television entertainment, Lilo Wanders, will be coming to the show. Also invited for the birthday is the Berlin cabaret artist and singer Alice Köfer. The artist Josef Zutelgte is even traveling from New York. In the past, one would have lured the parents out of the house under some pretext, bought beer and chips, redecorated the living room to let the party start. But the Adam Riese Show celebrates with a lively talk plus humor and guessing games in the Angels Hall of the Atlantic Hotel. The suitable music will be provided by the show band Markus Paßlick and his Original Pumpernickel. The show assistant Jens Heinrich Claassen will serve as the hostess.
Viewers of the Adam Riese Show can dine at the ATLANTIC Hotel at a special price. The three-course menu (vegetarian, fish, or meat) on show day at 6 PM in the ATLANTIC Grillroom costs €59 per person. Reservations for the dinner with the keyword "Adam Riese Show" can be made directly via email to grillroom.ahm@atlantic-hotels.de.
THE TALK SHOW GUESTS
Lilo Wanders
"Open the hearts - embrace the openings!" Under this motto, Lilo Wanders hosted a total of 545 episodes of the show "Wa(h)re Liebe," and for some reason, she just can't shake the topic. In 1989, she reinvented herself for a theater piece at the Schmidt Theater she co-founded in Hamburg and co-hosted the subversively anarchistic "Schmidt Midnight Show" on the three TV channels. In 1994, she took on the role of presenter for the erotic magazine "Wa(h)re Liebe" for over ten years and became known throughout Europe.
By now, Lilo Wanders is considered an expert on questions of love, sex, and relationships. She writes books, acts in theater, and has guest appearances in TV series and films. Wanders hosts talk shows, tours with her cabaret programs through German-speaking countries, and for many years led tourists through her neighborhood of St. Pauli during the summer months.
In 2022, Lilo Wanders founded the COME OUT! foundation to sustainably support initiatives for young LSBT*I* individuals; in 2023, she played Juno at the opera in Bremen in "Orpheus and Eurydice," and in the summer of 2024, she will portray Jenny Diver in Brecht's "Mack the Knife" in Bad Hersfeld.
Currently, Ernie Reinhardt, the person behind the artistic figure, is writing his memoirs under the title "Weren't You Lilo Wanders Once?" which will be published in September 2025.
Alice Köfer loves to combine music and comedy. She does this on the stages of our republic with her solo program "Alice auf Anfang." She studied music, specifically jazz and pop vocals in her hometown of Berlin. She carries the comedy within herself.
Her comedic talent was already showcased on tours with the duo Pigor and Eichhorn, in shows at the Friedrichstadtpalast, or in TV programs like "Ladies Night." Since 2010, she has been successfully performing as the only woman in the boy band "Vocal Recall" on cabaret and comedy stages. With this a cappella ensemble, she has released four CDs and won several prestigious awards. Markus Paßlick and his Original Pumpernickel are already looking forward to the lively encounter.
Charming and with a Berlin flair, Alice Köfer will sensationally chatter away in the Adam Riese Show, sometimes accidentally getting philosophical, sometimes humorously empty of meaning.
Josef Zutelgte lives and works as a freelance artist in New York. He is mainly known for his sculptures and drawings, which he has displayed at many exhibitions in the USA and Europe. He teaches as a professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. In the meantime, he instructs students in South Korea. Zutelgte completed his art studies in Münster in 1983. In this city, he gained attention in the mid-1980s through unusual art spectacles, including a wild belt show at an old car wash or a mask show at the then music club Odeon.
In 1986, Zutelgte left Münster for New York. In the early 21st century, he operated the trendy restaurant Pfiff close to the former World Trade Center. Its closure is ultimately a consequence of September 11, 2001.
In 2006, his hometown Telgte invited him to create a sculpture for the location. The fact that Josef Zutelgte turned the city's landmark, a young oak, upside down in the 6x6-meter work initially caused outrage and a substantial scandal. In the meantime, the artwork has been embraced in Telgte.
THE SHOW BAND
"Markus Paßlick and his Original Pumpernickel" are the house band of the Adam Riese Show. Joining them are vibraphone professor Altfrid M. Sicking, Jürgen Knautz on double bass, and percussionist Markus Paßlick, who enriches the show as a sidekick.
THE ASSISTANT
For three years, Jens Heinrich Claassen has been winning the hearts of the audience as Riese's show assistant. He never tires of emphasizing that he is still single. And that, despite being very, very wealthy.
THE SHOWMASTER
Entertaining people brings him joy. Adam Riese has always enjoyed doing this. Whether as the class clown in school or as a punk singer in the 1980s. He performed concerts all over from Constance to Hamburg. Back then, the 18-year-old awarded the most foolish face of the evening, danced in a cage, or threw pizza to the fans. And today, he entertains people in his talk show.
Doors open at 7:00 PM - Organizer: Friedenskapelle Münster
