Nothing less than an elemental experience is promised by the new production of Gauthier Dance - for the company itself as well as for the audience. And because Eric Gauthier has always had a fondness for playing with numbers, this concept evening is also marked by a number, the Four. Even the premiere took place on a day that only occurs every four years: February 29, 2024. Above all, this program brings together four artists who are stylistically as different as the four basic elements of all things:

Mauro Bigonzetti, SPIGHE

No one has collaborated with Gauthier Dance as often as the great dance aesthetician from Italy. His pieces have been a firm part of the Theaterhaus Company's repertoire since the first season. Those familiar with Bigonzetti's work will not be surprised by the element Eric Gauthier has chosen for him: Earth. After all, the native Roman finds inspiration for this right outside his doorstep - in the village in the Marche region where he has now put down roots. He repeatedly deals with the power of nature. Mauro Bigonzetti has named his piece for ELEMENTS SPIGHE - Ears of Corn. A fitting title for a choreography that translates the nurturing Mother Earth into dance.

Sharon Eyal, ALONE

The first piece she created specifically for Gauthier Dance was a quiet drumroll - her deceptively elegant and yet so insidious pas de trois for The Seven Sins. What smoldered beneath the surface in Point now bursts into flames. For what other element would be more fitting for the successful choreographer than ... fire? After the deadly sin of envy, Sharon Eyal returns to the grand cast for ELEMENTS that she became famous for. Eyal's incredibly focused, meticulous process consistently produces group pieces that unfold an almost hypnotic effect and mold the dancers into a single, breathing organism. As precise, rhythmic, and relentless as clockwork. As massive and relentlessly advancing as a sea of flames.

Andonis Foniadakis, ALMYRA

Could it be because he grew up on the island of Crete and was familiar with water since childhood? One thing is certain: this choreographer can flow seamlessly. No one before him has set the dancers on scene so softly, organically, and flexibly. Few before him have challenged them simultaneously. The rapid changes and complex figures make Foniadakis' pieces notoriously difficult to dance. ALMYRA now elevates the demands on the dancers to an astonishing next level. The Company's response: a peak performance.

Louise Lecavalier, ETHER

She is the icon of contemporary dance from Canada. Eric Gauthier has admired the legendary frontwoman of Édouard Lock's company La La La Human Steps since his time at the ballet school in Toronto. The punk, physical strength, and incredible speed she brought to dance had never been seen before, least of all from a woman. She has preserved her nonconformity and wildness to this day. It's no wonder she has taken on the element of air. Or should one rather say storm in her case? Either way, her contribution to Gauthier Dance stirs things up. Because Louise Lecavalier's premiere is a first in two ways: instead of choreographing herself, she has created a piece for another company for the first time. Her new solo partly follows on from So Blue - her choreographic debut from 2012, which evoked water in the title. With ETHER, she broadens the horizon once again. For Louise Lecavalier, the ether encompasses them all as the cosmic "element of elements" - fire, water, air, and earth.

New album 'Night Songs' by Michael Moravek will be released on January 24, 2025 (backseat / the orchard)

Night thoughts that reflect the universal feelings full of contradictions that haunt us on sleepless nights.

Instead of being overwhelmed by persistent insomnia, Michael Moravek transforms this state into a creative process. He incorporates his nocturnal reflections into music and lyrics. His new album 'Night Songs' is a captivating collection of songs created in the time between darkness and the first light of dawn.

The minimally arranged songs were recorded in a creative flow within a few days, barely having been put on paper. Inspired by Springsteen's album Nebraska, Moravek has realized that the fleeting magic is often lost when songs linger too long in an arrangement process. For him, the moment of creation is crucial.

Michael Moravek is one of the most poetic Americana songwriters in Germany. His music is substantive and atmospheric, filled with hopeful melancholy and an ever-biographical undertone. With his band Electric Traveling Show, he is considered one of the most interesting acts in the German Americana genre, enriched with a refreshing jazzy touch. His previous releases also include the critically acclaimed album November by Deutschlandfunk, which features songs written for a play based on Melville's Moby Dick. "On January 16, 2009 at 4:45 pm, Israeli tank shells were fired into the bedroom of my daughters. Bessan, Aya, and Mayar were instantly killed, along with their cousin Noor. Because the Israeli military had banned journalists from accessing Gaza, I gave a daily phone interview to an Israeli TV reporter. Minutes after the attack, I called him at the station; he broadcasted our conversation on-air. The news spread rapidly around the world."

This is the story of Dr. med. Abuelaish, a Palestinian gynecologist and fertility expert. He narrates the daily life in Gaza, waiting at Israeli checkpoints, family life between hope and despair, and the deadly attack. He would have every reason to hate Israel, yet he continues to fight for understanding and reconciliation with Israel: "Hate blinds and leads to irrational thinking and behavior. Peace is humanity. Peace means respect. Peace is an open dialogue. More needed now than ever before."

At the Hamburg Private Theater Days 2015, the production by Ernst Konarek received the Monica Bleibtreu Prize in the category "Best Contemporary Drama." The jury writes in its justification: "The economy of means, the seriousness of the presentation carried by desperate humor, the unusual and surprising view of a topic that we thought we already knew - nothing better can happen to us theatergoers than to be deprived of our certainties and animated to active hope, authenticated by the power of a performer: Mohammad-Ali Behboudi."

And now Hanau - And now Hanau

AND NOW HANAU? What happens next after the racially motivated terrorist attack on February 19, 2020 in Hanau, which has seared into the collective memory of the Federal Republic. Nine people are cold-bloodedly murdered that evening out of pure racist motives. Nine lives that were ruthlessly extinguished in blind rage fueled by pure hatred.

However, the reconstruction of the events raises more questions than it provides answers. How could there be an organizational failure of such magnitude? Why did locked emergency exits make it impossible for the victims to escape? Why was the emergency call center not adequately staffed? And why did the public prosecutor's office and the police show an apparent unwillingness to investigate the course of the crime?

Questions that the theater author, director, actor, and physician Tuğsal Moğul, born in 1969 in Neubeckum (Westphalia), asks. Together with the Initiative 19th February, an initiative of the victims' families and survivors, he addresses the events surrounding the night of the murder and gives a voice to the affected. To those who were still confronted with bureaucratic chaos and xenophobic resentments.

As part of a research project, Tuğsal Moğul and the initiative seek to provide the greatest possible transparency for an event that is completely opaque. They bring the reality to the stage in the form of documentary theater, creating a dignified remembrance of the act.

It is about a thorough investigation of the events and a critical examination of the actions of governmental authorities, the police, and political consequences. And, of course, it's about justice. For the victims and their families.

AND NOW HANAU aims to create a changed perspective on what happened and demands a societal process of reflection and consequences.

As long as they can remember, the three seasoned masters of humor have been traveling the stages of the world. When Nikita got expelled from high school in the 90s for being supposedly "too Russian" for Schiller, he had no idea that this very tornness between cultures would one day become his greatest treasure. Between German sandwiches and Russian pierogi, between the real school yard and the stories of his grandmother who was deported to Kazakhstan, he found his own way.

And now Hanau - And now Hanau

AND NOW HANAU? What happens next after the racially motivated terrorist attack on February 19, 2020 in Hanau, which has seared into the collective memory of the Federal Republic. Nine people are cold-bloodedly murdered that evening out of pure racist motives. Nine lives that were ruthlessly extinguished in blind rage fueled by pure hatred.

However, the reconstruction of the events raises more questions than it provides answers. How could there be an organizational failure of such magnitude? Why did locked emergency exits make it impossible for the victims to escape? Why was the emergency call center not adequately staffed? And why did the public prosecutor's office and the police show an apparent unwillingness to investigate the course of the crime?

Questions that the theater author, director, actor, and physician Tuğsal Moğul, born in 1969 in Neubeckum (Westphalia), asks. Together with the Initiative 19th February, an initiative of the victims' families and survivors, he addresses the events surrounding the night of the murder and gives a voice to the affected. To those who were still confronted with bureaucratic chaos and xenophobic resentments.

As part of a research project, Tuğsal Moğul and the initiative seek to provide the greatest possible transparency for an event that is completely opaque. They bring the reality to the stage in the form of documentary theater, creating a dignified remembrance of the act.

It is about a thorough investigation of the events and a critical examination of the actions of governmental authorities, the police, and political consequences. And, of course, it's about justice. For the victims and their families.

Vadim Neselovskyi & Ysaye String Trio

It has always been the aspiration of composers to reflect current events in their music. If we were to name a significant event affecting everyone today, it would surely be the war in Ukraine.

On February 24, 2025, the Russian attack on Ukraine will mark its third anniversary. On this occasion, the Stuttgart Theater House presents the latest work by the Ukrainian-German pianist and composer VADIM NESELOVSKYI: PERSEVERENTIA (Latin for "perseverance, persistence"). Neselovskyi draws on iconic events from the past three years in his episodes. Some of this he experienced from a distance through the media. Much of it, however, Neselovskyi learned from encounters with Ukrainian refugees and from collaborating with Ukrainian musicians. As in his solo suite about his hometown Odesa (Ukrainian spelling), he achieves a high emotional density that conveys the impact to the audience. Ultimately, hope for peace prevails in Neselovskyi's work.

Vadim Neselovskyi was born in Odesa, where, at the age of 15, he was already admitted as the youngest student at the conservatory. In the 1990s, his family moved to Germany, where he continued his studies. Today, he teaches alongside his concert activities in Boston at the Berklee College of Music and at the conservatory in Maastricht.

The Dutch-Bulgarian Ysaÿe String Trio, consisting of Rada Ovcharova (Violin), Emlyn Stam (Viola), and Willem Stam (Cello), was founded in 2006 and has since made a name for itself in the classical music world. Vadim Neselovskyi recorded the Suite with the trio last October. The concert in Stuttgart is the live premiere in this lineup.

Two parts have already been recorded with another trio for demo purposes and provide a small glimpse of what Vadim intends when the new suite is fully composed and developed:

Three Turkish women from the first generation of immigrants. They arrive in a foreign country that is so different from what they had imagined. They do not want to stay long, yet they are faced with the challenge of making friends with their new home. How difficult is it to integrate into another country? And what does this country do for that? "The German Ayşe" is a scenic contribution to the ongoing debate about the success of integration. Author Tuğsal Moğul portrays in his play three strong women, whose life stories speak for themselves on stage.

Tuğsal Moğul was born in Neubeckum in 1969. In his play premiered at the Theater Münster and invited to the 2013 intercultural festival "Made in Germany" in Stuttgart, he assembles his own memories and interviews he conducted with immigrants into a joyful revue about the beginnings of migration in Germany.

Childhood friends Mulo Francel and Didi Lowka founded the ensemble Quadro Nuevo in 1996. Since then, the adventurous artists have traveled to countless places from Helsinki to Hong Kong, from the Caucasus to the New York Carnegie Hall.
With their daring way of making music, they have won the ECHO award twice, a Gold Record, the German Record Critics' Award, and several Jazz Awards.
With the extravagantly playful accordionist Andreas Hinterseher and the pianist Chris Gall, who shines with lavish creativity, they bring their music to life in the here and now. This is reminiscent of four lads who joyfully made music on southern city squares and fairs. This is what happened at the beginning of Quadro Nuevo.
Later, they spent time in Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro, rehearsed for days in the scorching midday heat, roamed out in the evenings, threw themselves headfirst into the scene, accompanied dancers, reveled in heavy wine, Caipirinha, and fresh Brazilian music straight from the source.

The new album HAPPY Deluxe is the result.

The singer Thabilé has just released her latest album Read My Lips, when she is awarded the Africa Festival Award (AFA). The award honors her, among other things, for her commitment to raising awareness through her music about the issues faced by oppressed South African women.

Thabilé knows what she sings about. She knows the pain and misery, but also the unbridled joy of life in South Africa from firsthand experience. She grew up in Dlamini, a township in Soweto (after which her first album "Dlamini Echo" is named). She doesn't know much about her father, growing up with her mother, grandmother, and aunt. Her mother, who often tours as a singer with the well-known "Soweto Teachers Choir," encourages her daughter at the tender age of eight to join the school and gospel choir – thus instilling in Thabilé the love for music early on.

Today, Thabilé lives in Stuttgart and advocates for a better togetherness, especially for women's rights. Her songs tell of difficult living conditions and the fight against injustices in South Africa, but are also seen as statements against all forms of injustice in the world. This is evident in her new album "Read My Lips." It fits perfectly with Thabilé's long-standing commitment to visiting children in German schools and educating them about prejudices.

Rightly, the sympathetic singer has now been awarded "Artist of the Year 2023" at the African Festival Award (AFA) in Würzburg. "I feel very honored," says Thabilé. "The award confirms that I am on the right path. And it encourages me to continue. I feel the power of music and want to lend my voice to those who suffer a lot and are not heard otherwise. In music, I feel joy and freedom, but also responsibility."

Better than with the last sentence, the new album "Read My Lips" could not be described. In it, Thabilé dives back into the world of her memories and experiences, which can be painful. Yet – as mentioned in the award ceremony's laudation – "she not only places her finger in the wound, but also, with her charming nature and powerful magical voice, manages to instill courage and convey hope ..."

Thabilé's songs have never been pure "world music," but always a high-class mix of various genres such as Afro, Gospel, Jazz, Rhythm and Blues. On the new album, Thabilé has now taken a musical step further together with her producer (and guitarist) Steve Bimamisa. "Read My Lips" also offers sparkling soulful songs and catchy pop ballads. With Thabilé's unmistakable voice – sometimes rock rough, sometimes gentle and soft. An album to listen to and empathize with, but also to sing along and dance to. At the third-highest peak on Earth, Kangchenjunga, Kammerlander suffered severe frostbite. Instead of climbing three eight-thousanders, he undertook the bitter journey to the hospital. A film team captured the most thrilling moments and also extreme footage of the ski descent.

Hans Kammerlander is one of the most successful extreme mountaineers of our time. Born in Ahornach, a small village on a steep slope in the Tauferer Ahrntal valley, he climbed his first three-thousander at the age of 8. Secretly following two tourists. After that, the South Tyrolean discovered the enchanting world of the mountains.

He climbed twelve of the fourteen eight-thousanders, seven of them alongside Reinhold Messner. He skied down from the summit of Everest and through the steep slopes of Nanga Parbat. With Reinhold Messner, he circumnavigated his home region of South Tyrol along its borders. He ascended the north faces of Ortler and Große Zinne within 24 hours. During this time, he also conquered all four ridges of the Matterhorn. As the first mountaineer in the world, Hans Kammerlander accomplished one of the two versions of the Seven Second Summits, the second-highest peaks on each of the seven continents. Hans Kammerlander is a mountain guide and ski instructor. He lives in the Tauferer Ahrntal valley and is a father of a daughter.

As Dr. Nest boards the night train, determined to leave bitter memories and his erratic life behind, night falls at the "Villa Blanca". In the remote sanatorium, a gathering place for crazy fates, he confidently assumes his new position. What questions and answers does nerd culture provide us about the big issues of humanity? The "Kack & Sachgeschichten" revolves around thought experiments that are delivered by movies, series, and comics.

The show started in the summer of 2016 and is currently one of the most popular German podcasts in the field of TV & film. The three guys Fred, Richard, and Tobi have turned their hobby into a profession and are listened to monthly by over 400,000 enthusiastic fans. Spotify recognized them as the most popular podcast in the "TV & film" category, where they recently surpassed 10 million downloads.

Sir Waldo Weathers 75 Birthday Bash

Waldo Weathers first took the stage at the age of twelve in a club with the band New Birth. Starting out as a saxophonist in Rhythm and Blues bands, Weathers soon transitioned to Jazz and Funk. In 1985, he was recognized as the first African American country saxophonist by the Country Music Hall of Fame. From 1979 to 1989, Weathers shared the stage with music giants Charley Pride and Johnnie Taylor. As a headliner, Waldo Weathers performed on the MS Europa from 2005 to 2009. From 2010 to 2011, he accompanied Phil Collins on stages across Germany. From 1993 to 2006, Waldo Weathers was a member of James Brown's band, contributing solos to Brown's albums as well as the live DVD *Live at the House of Blues*. Additionally, Weathers has shared the stage with B.B. King, Al Green, Little Richard, Harriet Lewis, and many others.

In August 2008, Waldo Weathers was knighted by the German "Duke of Rittergutes Meinbrexen" and has since been known as "Sir Waldo Weathers of Meinbrexen". Sir Waldo Weathers was also a member of the showband Sweet Soul Music Revue and performs with his two bands, Sir Waldo Weathers with the Soul of James Brown and Classic Soul Orchestra.

One always meets twice. This was the case for Mr. Hämmerle from Bempflingen and the King of Rock and Roll. Mr. Hämmerle narrowly escaped unscathed during their first involuntary encounter – united through music in friendship.

Having visited Memphis in the meantime, Mr. Hämmerle is now preparing for a return visit. A delicate matter: ELVIS should not find out that Mr. Hämmerle feels called to take over his correspondence and independently respond to fan mail from admirers in Germany... Mr. Hämmerle therefore attempts to keep the King under control with a sightseeing tour including a language course.

The tour through the region not only provides Elvis with surprising insights into the land and its people. However, just like their first meeting, a fateful collision occurs: Enter the spirited senior citizen Frau Schwerdtfeger, who thoroughly shakes up the mismatched duo!

With their first program "Elvis Meets Elvis – a Fateful Encounter in the Roundabout," the unique duo had already proven that they are masters of their craft. And like 95% of Bavarians, Stephan Zinner, born in Trostberg in the Hinterer Chiemgau, also appreciates the tavern, especially the Munich one, as a very special place. "On January 16, 2009 at 4:45 pm, Israeli tank shells were fired into the bedroom of my daughters. Bessan, Aya, and Mayar were instantly killed, along with their cousin Noor. Because the Israeli military had banned journalists from accessing Gaza, I gave a daily phone interview to an Israeli TV reporter. Minutes after the attack, I called him at the station; he broadcasted our conversation on-air. The news spread rapidly around the world."

This is the story of Dr. med. Abuelaish, a Palestinian gynecologist and fertility expert. He narrates the daily life in Gaza, waiting at Israeli checkpoints, family life between hope and despair, and the deadly attack. He would have every reason to hate Israel, yet he continues to fight for understanding and reconciliation with Israel: "Hate blinds and leads to irrational thinking and behavior. Peace is humanity. Peace means respect. Peace is an open dialogue. More needed now than ever before."

At the Hamburg Private Theater Days 2015, the production by Ernst Konarek received the Monica Bleibtreu Prize in the category "Best Contemporary Drama." One year after the sensationally successful debut with RENAISSANCE, the Gauthier Dance JUNIORS present a second program of their own, consisting of two premieres, two established classics of contemporary dance, and a completely new podcast format hosted by Eric Gauthier. The original title of the concept evening was: Something old something new something borrowed something blue, as required by the good luck tradition for the wedding dress in the Anglo-Saxon world. Indeed, each of the four pieces refers to one of the four elements of good luck. Together, they are also meant to bring the Gauthier Dance JUNIORS much luck for their future in dance!

Something old: A remarkably fitting choice for the JUNIORS is Jardi Tancat (Catalan for an enclosed garden). Nacho Duato also created his choreographic debut in 1983 for a junior company, NDT 2. The atmospheric piece is named after the eponymous album by Catalan folk singer Maria del Mar Bonet, an icon of the resistance against the Franco regime. The lyrics, like the dance of the three pairs clad in earthy colors, evoke the hard peasant life, in the relentless fight against the dryness and barrenness of the Catalan soil.

Something new: Virginie Brunelle is considered one of the great hopes of Canadian dance. Those familiar with the two previous collaborations with Gauthier Dance will confirm this. The intimate, poetic group piece Beating for the concept evening Grandes Dames aimed to synchronize the heartbeats of the performers. In the passionate solo Off White for The Dying Swans Project, which she created during the pandemic via Zoom from Canada, she had a dancer run against loneliness. Her next premiere for the JUNIORS is already in the pipeline. The excitement is building!

Something borrowed: Lickety-Split comes across as relaxed despite its speedy title, and is especially very human and humorous. To the hypnotic music of Californian indie folk singer Devendra Banhart, Alejandro Cerrudo, then the resident choreographer of Hubbard Street Dance Company Chicago, sketched the encounter of three couples: sensual, mysterious, and with a touch of eccentricity. In one of its first seasons, Gauthier Dance included the piece in the program as part of the dance evening Lucky Seven in 2011. Now it is time to pass this dance jewel on to the next young theater company...

Something blue: Barak Marshall's The Blue Bride is a winking lesson about a doomed love and the dangers of naivety, blind obedience, and jealousy. In the style of a Moritat, it begins with the bride at the altar, waiting in vain for her groom, and ends with a gruesome yet comical wedding massacre. The color blue in the title refers to the psychological instability of the abused bride, who morphs into a revenger and murderer throughout the piece. Sarcastic, witty, and underscored with love songs from around the world, The Blue Bride promises to be an extremely entertaining, fast-paced tragicomedy.

In addition to the four good luck choreographies, Eric Gauthier explores in a very special new format what brings the claim "Dream Team" to life. The text SECRET PLAN was written by Lolita Lax, Jean Peters, Kay Voges. GRANDPA'S HOMELAND was authored by Derya Türkmen. Both stories are interwoven into one piece. SECRET PLAN AGAINST GERMANY deals with the secret meeting of AfD politicians, neo-Nazis, Identitarians, and wealthy entrepreneurs in Potsdam in November 2023. The meeting was uncovered and eavesdropped on by the investigative editorial team CORRECTIV. GRANDPA'S HOMELAND, on the other hand, is the story of a Turkish family who have been living in Germany for over five decades and who are directly affected by this meeting in Potsdam. This applies to the many millions of people with a migration background who have found their home in Germany.

I AM FROM AUSTRIA

When cheering spectators jump out of their seats and sing along to STS' "Fürstenfeld", raise their arms to the sky during Ambros' "Skifoan", or know every line by heart of Fendrich's "Macho Macho", they are most likely at one of the sold-out concerts of "I am from Austria", the biggest Austro Pop show in Europe. In this gripping revue, Austrian pop celebrates its triumphant comeback: as a big party with an "overdose of emotion" that can still be felt even in the last row thanks to elaborate technology. With lots of humor, joy of playing, and authenticity, the musicians of "I am from Austria" ignite a fireworks of hits on stage that has been making international history for 50 years. They once again show what brilliant songwriters and artists Austro-Pop has produced over all these years. "That's where I come from, that's where I belong! - I am from Austria!" The musical journey, as entertaining as it is moving, leads through the inexhaustible hit repertoire of Austro-Pop with classics like "Großvater" by STS, "Weiße Pferde" by Georg Danzer, or "Weilst a Herz hast wia a Bergwerk" by Rainhard Fendrich. The quieter songs beyond the chart-toppers regularly give listeners goosebumps, including Karl Preyer's "Romeo und Julia", Ostbahnkurtis' "Feuer", Hubert von Goisern's "Weit weit weg", or "Flying High" by Opus. The audience loves this show above all because of the well-thought-out mix of selected milestones of Austrian musical history! And because it would be overwhelming to play them all, some of these hits have been cleverly arranged into medleys.

One year after the sensationally successful debut with RENAISSANCE, the Gauthier Dance JUNIORS present a second program of their own, consisting of two premieres, two established classics of contemporary dance, and a completely new podcast format hosted by Eric Gauthier. The original title of the concept evening was: Something old something new something borrowed something blue, as required by the good luck tradition for the wedding dress in the Anglo-Saxon world. Indeed, each of the four pieces refers to one of the four elements of good luck. Together, they are also meant to bring the Gauthier Dance JUNIORS much luck for their future in dance!

Something old: A remarkably fitting choice for the JUNIORS is Jardi Tancat (Catalan for an enclosed garden). Nacho Duato also created his choreographic debut in 1983 for a junior company, NDT 2. The atmospheric piece is named after the eponymous album by Catalan folk singer Maria del Mar Bonet, an icon of the resistance against the Franco regime. The lyrics, like the dance of the three pairs clad in earthy colors, evoke the hard peasant life, in the relentless fight against the dryness and barrenness of the Catalan soil.

Something new: Virginie Brunelle is considered one of the great hopes of Canadian dance. Those familiar with the two previous collaborations with Gauthier Dance will confirm this. The intimate, poetic group piece Beating for the concept evening Grandes Dames aimed to synchronize the heartbeats of the performers. In the passionate solo Off White for The Dying Swans Project, which she created during the pandemic via Zoom from Canada, she had a dancer run against loneliness. Her next premiere for the JUNIORS is already in the pipeline. The excitement is building!

Something borrowed: Lickety-Split comes across as relaxed despite its speedy title, and is especially very human and humorous. To the hypnotic music of Californian indie folk singer Devendra Banhart, Alejandro Cerrudo, then the resident choreographer of Hubbard Street Dance Company Chicago, sketched the encounter of three couples: sensual, mysterious, and with a touch of eccentricity. In one of its first seasons, Gauthier Dance included the piece in the program as part of the dance evening Lucky Seven in 2011. Now it is time to pass this dance jewel on to the next young theater company...

Something blue: Barak Marshall's The Blue Bride is a winking lesson about a doomed love and the dangers of naivety, blind obedience, and jealousy. In the style of a Moritat, it begins with the bride at the altar, waiting in vain for her groom, and ends with a gruesome yet comical wedding massacre. The color blue in the title refers to the psychological instability of the abused bride, who morphs into a revenger and murderer throughout the piece. Sarcastic, witty, and underscored with love songs from around the world, The Blue Bride promises to be an extremely entertaining, fast-paced tragicomedy.

In addition to the four good luck choreographies, Eric Gauthier explores in a very special new format what brings the claim "Dream Team" to life. ROMY HAUSMANN is a multitalent. At the flea market, she finds a Princess Standard typewriter from the 1960s. From then on, she hammers out 52 torn fragments onto paper during restless nights, inspired by the uncorrectability, and lets them be set to music by the Cologne producer Martin Bechler (FORTUNA EHRENFELD).

ROMY HAUSMANN shakes off all the niceties and stereotypes of a so-called power woman like an annoying fly, and we see her with flowing hair and a champagne glass on the fire escape on her way UP. Where life still scratches and bites and burns.
ROMY HAUSMANN throws her heart onto the brightly polished operating table for filleting with shameless hardness and tender courage. But no matter how often we saw it apart - it doesn’t stop beating. Romy Hausmann carefully folds all the vulnerabilities of a scratched life into a small parchment umbrella to decorate her next, but certainly not her last, drink.

Fearless, shameless, brave and wild.

With enchanting vulnerability and disarming closeness at the ear of the listeners, she throws last love and cold-blooded gall against all the anger, to avoid being consumed by it. Together with her, we let ourselves fall blindly into "Princess Standard", eyes closed, swaying, into a musical bed created by none other than Fortuna Ehrenfeld. A bed that seems to have been waiting only for this wordy literary suicide and surely needs to be freshly made by tomorrow morning.
The Hausmann/ Bechler duo presents a massive album of beat-driven danceability and intoxicating piano ballads out of nowhere.
