Jan van Weyde - Weyder geht´s!
Ladies and Gentlemen! There it is! The second child, the second program, the second big "cap"!
And what's it all about? Here we go again! Through the everyday madness of a working husband and father of two little girls - one in the classic tantrum phase, the other in the "wobbly tooth puberty".
Every morning starts the same for him: waking up at 6:30 am, brushing teeth, coloring unicorn pictures, dressing up as a Disney princess... but unfortunately only until the kids are awake too. Because then the oldest has to go to school and the youngest to "Tinder dates," as she calls them herself... But admittedly - it's a real relief after his involuntary career as a homeschool teacher and human climbing frame in lockdown. And not to forget his furry firstborn - his mixed-breed dog Holly - who, with age, is turning more into a grumpy old lady, barking at passersby from the window sill and, if she could, would report illegal parkers. Jan tells, in his likable and authentic way, how he manages to juggle all these balls in his ongoing juggling act between job and family. Or not... Because sometimes there are simply too many of them, and there are just no breaks! Not even his own bed belongs to him, as at least two kids use him as a substitute pillow. So he often catches himself searching for a place of silence, a small island of calmness, to sneak in a nap - essentially in his top-secret "Secret-Rat´s Corner"...
At parent-teacher conferences, he often feels, next to all the "real adults," like the troublemaker from the back of the class, while his oldest now seems smarter than him ("Dad, why is 1+1 not actually 11?") and on tour, he often finds himself in too small single beds in David Lynch-style countryside hotels.
But anyone thinking there's time for a breather in all this would be mistaken!
After all, life's most pressing questions need answering:
What do newborns dream of? What do you call female meerkats? Can you smoke a tuba? And should he really "accept cookies" on his Weight Watchers app? So here we go again! With the second solo program by and with Jan van Weyde.
