Sebastian Krumbiegel (Die Prinzen) - Aufstehen – Weitermachen!
Aufstehen – Weitermachen!
You loved me, you hated me
Cheered or booed anyway
What's the big deal
I feel free
And keep going, fully at risk
This is what Sebastian Krumbiegel sings in the opener of his album "Aufstehen – Weitermachen!" released on 20.09.24. This motto is a program, as heard in the 12 songs, all written by him. In the title song, he sings about how his mother has always advised him to question authorities. In "Superheld," he sings about the possibility that everyone has the superpowers to make this world better, and in "Freddie Mercury," about someone who actually made the world better with his superpowers. At least the music world. Furthermore, there are political songs, love songs, and even a hate song.
"Aufstehen – Weitermachen!" - since he can remember, he gets up (sometimes earlier, sometimes later) and keeps going... making music! Sebastian Krumbiegel started with music as a child in the Thomanerchor, where he learned to sing. At 15, he had his first band, and then THE PRINZEN. “No kidding, I write songs and sing every day. It often has a truly therapeutic effect; it gives me the strength to get up and keep going after setbacks.”
Sebastian Krumbiegel can do a lot once he's up: record pop and political piano albums, write books (his autobiography "Meine Stimme" was recently published by Ventil Verlag), portray singing lizards (on The Masked Singer) and Helmut Kohl (on Jan Böhmermann), and now, fresh from the heart, release fresh, cheeky, fabulous (Indie-)pop albums.
I was already at the top and I was in the dirt
And sometimes what I did had no class
What's the big deal
I feel free
And keep going, fully at risk
You definitely don’t have to worry about the quality of Sebastian Krumbiegel's new work; it’s top-notch. Going fully at risk has paid off in this case. Keep going!
