“ A long long way to go” Phil Collins texted on his 3rd solo album in 1985. Surely, he didn't imagine that 10 years later, a few crazy music students would set out to faithfully replay his songs with a new band. Why would they? Who listens to 2 hours of live music from a band that only covers ONE artist? Today we know better, as the tribute band scene, in which Still Collins continues to progress, has become a solid part of the concert landscape in music clubs, town halls, and theaters throughout Europe.
In 30 years, Still Collins has performed over 1700 concerts, with 4 out of 7 musicians still on stage as founding members. This is evident at every show in an incredible level of expertise, brilliant sound, and a refined performance from the first to the last song. Naturally, even die-hard fans of the originals can hardly distinguish an acoustic difference between the “tribute” and the “master.” They say trust your eyes, for it is obviously not HIM. But trust your ears, and you might believe it is HIM after all!
From “Selling England by the pound” to the latest Phil Collins solo album, Still Collins programmatically covers the entire musical palette of the Phil Collins and Genesis music history, occasionally shining a brief light on the adjacent solo theme of “Peter Gabriel.” With top sound, elaborate lighting design, and in most concerts, cutting-edge LED video technology – the band is well-equipped for the next 1700 concerts in top locations.
