Brass Band Oberschwaben-Allgäu mit Gastsolist Ernst Hutter
An extraordinary musical event awaits the audience on Saturday, October 31, 2026, in Obereisenbach: The Brass Band Oberschwaben-Allgäu (BBOA) presents a concert project together with Ernst Hutter that uniquely combines symphonic brass band sound, soloistic virtuosity, and the world of Bohemian-Moravian brass music.
The Brass Band Oberschwaben-Allgäu has been one of the renowned brass bands in Germany for many years. The ensemble was founded in 1992 and has since made a name for itself with numerous national and international successes. These include top placements at European Brass Band Championships, winning the German Open, as well as invitations to significant festivals and concert series both at home and abroad.
The BBOA impresses with an exceptionally homogeneous sound, great dynamic range, and a repertoire that ranges from classical brass band literature to symphonic works and modern concert formats. The ensemble frequently collaborates with outstanding guest musicians, including Simon Höfele and Zoltán Kiss in recent years.
Ernst Hutter is one of the defining personalities of German-speaking brass music. Born in Opfenbach near Lindau, he came into contact with brass music early on in the Lake Constance area and Allgäu. He studied classical trombone at the Stuttgart Musikhochschule, was a trombonist with the SWR Big Band, and played in numerous other ensembles. Since 1985, Ernst Hutter was a member of the legendary Egerländer Musikanten under Ernst Mosch and significantly shaped the characteristic sound of the formation on the tenor horn for decades. After Ernst Mosch's death, he initially continued the musical legacy together with Toni Scholl before he became the sole musical director in 2003, leading the Egerländer Musikanten to new international prominence. With the farewell tour "Mein Finale," Ernst Hutter bid farewell to the Egerländer Musikanten in 2025 after more than four decades.
It is precisely this connection that makes the concert in Obereisenbach so exciting: The tonal precision and power of a high-class brass band meets a musician who embodies style, experience, and lived brass music tradition like few others. For the BBOA, the collaboration with Ernst Hutter is both an encounter and an experiment: How does Bohemian-Moravian musicality sound dressed in the guise of a brass band? What new colors emerge when symphonic brass sound and the unmistakable language of Egerländer tradition come together?
The audience can look forward to an evening of concert filled with musical energy, fine timbres, virtuosic moments, and surprising encounters. Those who love brass band music, appreciate Ernst Hutter, or are simply curious about an extraordinary concert format should not miss this evening.
