In Würzburg, the Jessicats have come together – however, founding an all-female band was by no means a conscious decision. Rather, this situation arose quite naturally, just as it does for their male colleagues.
Inspired by their audience and their unique band constellation, the Jessicats have chosen a special homage. The trio plays a repertoire that exclusively features works by female composers. This includes both established jazz musicians like Alice Coltrane, Carla Cook, and Emily Remler, as well as the interpreters themselves.
The ensemble, consisting of Carolin Heuser on saxophone, Victoria Pohl on piano, and Sabrina Damiani on bass, captivates at its concerts with a natural and expressive musical experience, visible joy of playing, as well as courage to take risks and spontaneity. The evening is lightened up by the charming moderation of the musicians.
