THEATER CLEANER
Where theater is performed, energy inevitably arises. Existential emotions are blown into the stage space by the actors; the audience perceives this energetic change and honors the performance with applause. Afterwards, all participants leave the hall, but what energy remains in the stage space! The humorous short film gives insight into the daily work of Volker Schnabel. He recently became self-employed and operates grounded energetic cleaning of stage spaces.

DAVID SIMON, born in Flensburg, studied acting at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Leipzig. He then worked at Schauspiel Leipzig (formerly Centraltheater), Schauspiel Essen, Thalia Theater Hamburg, Theaterhaus Jena, Staatstheater Braunschweig, Theater Oberhausen, Staatsschauspiel Hannover, as well as at Ballhaus Ost and HAU Berlin. The ZDF series DAS MANKO, which he developed, wrote, and shot with the collective of the same name, will be released in 2026.
FEMALE GAZE NEUTRAL DENSITY FILTER
Women over 40 are allegedly perceived less: structurally, politically, sexually. To prepare for this upcoming phase of life, hannsjana meets a group of women who cleverly utilize their invisibility for their own advantage – selfishly, unrestrained, or simply criminally. For the short film in mockumentary style, the documentary filmmakers apply a female gaze neutral density filter to portray these women and explore the subversive potential of invisibility.

HANNSJANA is a collective of female artists and has been jointly producing performances, audio tours, and video works since 2011. They consistently approach complex topics and multilayered places with humor, feminism, and scientific rigor. Their works have recently been showcased at the Impulse Festival, auf dem steirischen herbst, at Theater Thikwa, and at the OSTEN Festival.
