Here there is no distance - only fear, desire, and the loss of all control. “Everyone knows Dracula,” says director and author Sascha Hödl, “but I sought a way to retell the story without losing its original vision. Many productions romanticize the material - and that’s why I deconstructed it and put it back together.” “Dracula” becomes a ruthless horror trip: intense, physical, psychologically disturbing. A world emerges where fiction breaks apart and reality takes shape. New perspectives meet the familiar - and unfold their power within it: they touch and shock anew, without losing the familiar. This production dares what has become rare on German stages: real, unfiltered horror. No wink, no irony - just darkness that comes closer than one would wish to bear. An evening that does not end when the curtain falls, but continues to live deep within.
THE CAST
For the world premiere of DRACULA, the audience can look forward to a multifaceted cast, composed of seven different actors/actresses, with new and familiar faces from theater stages and German television. NICK WILDER, known as a long-time doctor on the cruise ship, lends us his voice (off-speaker) and will send us to sea as CAPTAIN OF THE DEMETER with one of the darkest chapters from Bram Stoker’s Dracula. With TABEA WILLEMSEN, we have secured an international actress who will captivate us as LUCY WESTENRA with her emotional acting. As the first known face from German television, we were able to recruit DUSTIN SEMMELROGGE. He takes on the probably most complex and challenging character MR. RENFIELD - a personality that becomes the intermediary of the tragic story, balancing between madness and uncontrollable desire. KAI NOLL, especially known for his long-time lead role in “Unter uns,” stands as DR. JACK SEWARD between two worlds - between science and occult theories - and witnesses that behind every story lies a spark of truth. In the moment of inexplicable despair, one of the most famous characters from Bram Stoker’s masterpiece is introduced. JOSHY PETERS, a rock for decades in the Karl May Games Bad Segeberg, embodies the character of the legendary scientist, theologian, and vampire hunter PROF. ABRAHAM VAN HELSING. Bringing a fresh breeze is INES CIHAL, who will glide through the highs and lows of emotions in the story, leaving the audience utterly affected - she takes on the emotional role of MINA HARKER. By her side stands ALEXANDER MILZ, as husband and lawyer JONATHAN HARKER. The versatile actor embarks on the journey to Transylvania to fulfill a task that should ensure him a carefree future. Upon arrival, he encounters the man who not only directs but also penned the story. With SASCHA HÖDL, we experience the undead and vampire COUNT DRACULA, who in this production moves like a white shark in the shadows.
