An evening with the KAFKA BAND means: diving into a world of driving guitars, dark grooves, and literary tension. In autumn 2026, the band finally returns on tour – bringing a program that unites all three celebrated albums: The Castle, America, and The Trial. A set full of powerful soundscapes, whispering abysses, and eruptive energy, breathing new life into Franz Kafka's fragments. A long, rock-heavy, dark Kafka party – just as one imagines it in a club.
The heads of the project are writer Jaroslav Rudiš and comic book artist, illustrator, and musician Jaromír 99 – the duo that already made waves with the graphic novel Alois Nebel. Surrounding them is an ensemble of some of the most renowned Czech musicians, including members of Priessnitz, Umakart, Letní kapela, and Tata Bojs. Together, they create a sound that oscillates between post-rock, indie, electronic, and theatrical music.
The KAFKA BAND was formed in 2013 in cooperation with the Literaturhaus Stuttgart. Their first two albums were also implemented live on stage in theater productions at the Theater Bremen under the direction of Alexander Riemenschneider – a testament to how organically their music moves between concert, performance, and literature.
