At the center is a frontman with charisma, wit, charm – and the “real” voice. With “Phil,” you can dream to the perfectly played music of Phil Collins and Genesis – or dance and really take off.
“Phil”: The eleven-member group around singer Jürgen “Phil” Mayer is considered by many fans and critics to be the best Phil Collins and Genesis tribute band in Europe. The likeable group from the Karlsruhe area authentically offers the versatile and complex music of British megastar Collins and his former band “Genesis.” In doing so, Jürgen “Phil” Mayer closely resembles his great idol: vocally, visually, and with outstanding stage presence.
In a two-and-a-half-hour show, Collins and Genesis lovers can, of course, hear the world hits: “Against All Odds,” “Another Day in Paradise,” “Easy Lover,” “Invisible Touch,” and the anthem “Carpet Crawlers.” The professional band, featuring two female singers and a brass section, ensures an unforgettable concert experience at the highest musical level. They also surprise with one or two lesser-known Collins and “Genesis” songs.
For over 25 years, “Phil” has relied on a large and loyal European fanbase. And it continues to grow: The band plays numerous live concerts not only across Germany but also in the USA (Houston/Texas), France, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Denmark.
“Phil” maintained a good contact with Phil Collins through his management until his retirement – and is particularly proud of that. “Phil” met Phil personally in Stuttgart. On his former website, Collins referred to his colleagues from Germany.
