Modern, Japanese, different: Welcome to the world of MAKA. What began as a creative lockdown experiment quickly developed into one of Vienna's most exciting culinary success stories. With their ramen kits in mason jars, which they delivered by bicycle around the city, Katrin and Max initially delighted friends and neighbors, then a steadily growing fan base. This was followed by pop-up events in friendly restaurants, before the two finally opened their own MAKA restaurant.
In their new cookbook "MAKA Magic," Katrin and Max take their readers on a culinary journey full of feel-good dishes, surprising flavor combinations, and creative inspirations. Inspired by Japanese cuisine but free from rigid conventions, they combine their favorite flavors to create dishes that are both familiar and new. From aromatic ramen that warms the heart and soul to Japanese-inspired tapas and sweet highlights, they showcase how versatile, uncomplicated, and enjoyable modern Asian cuisine can be.
Together with our chef Jan, Katrin and Max will prepare a selection of specialties from the book, which you can enjoy that evening in a multi-course menu in intermediate sizes at the restaurant mahlZEIT! Look forward to creative dishes, exciting stories from the creation of MAKA, and an evening full of culinary inspiration. Of course, you will also have the opportunity to get your copy of "MAKA Magic" personally signed by Katrin and Max.

About Katrin and Max
Katrin and Max are the heart of MAKA. They are the interplay of focus and explosion. Because they love good food and passionate creations, both in their own unique way: Max in depth, in the broth, and in calmness, Katrin in creativity, in images, colors, and in the dining room.
Both have gathered many years of gastronomic experience in Austria and abroad and have created a place in Vienna where people come together, eat, enjoy, and discover the art of looking beyond the plate, even culinarily. With MAKA, they combine traditional influences of Japanese cuisine with creative ideas, creating dishes that surprise, excite, and above all, bring happiness.
Important notes:
The number of seats is limited. The ticket price includes the menu prepared by Katrin and Max. On this evening, only the MAKA menu will be served at the restaurant.
Please note that drinks à la carte are not included in the ticket price.
Please book all tickets for your group in one booking. Our service team will then seat you together at one table. If this is not possible, please indicate the group affiliation in the order note.
On this day, regular reservations are only possible until 3:15 PM. After that, the restaurant is exclusively reserved for the event.
