Der Moderne Man

One of the hottest bands of the Neue Deutsche Welle (at a time when that wasn’t yet a term of abuse, but a term for a real turning point in German music culture) is finally returning to the stage.

Founded in the late seventies by singer Ziggy XY and guitarist Eckart Kurtz, aka E.K.T., the band from Hanover quickly became one of the most important acts of the Neue Deutsche Welle with their experimental German-language wave sounds. At the time, radio DJ legend John Peel and the music magazine Sounds were among the band’s early supporters. Before breaking up in 1984, the band released two singles and mini-albums, as well as their two full-length albums, “80 Tage Auf See” (1980) and “Unmodern” (1982), on the cult label No Fun Records.

After the completely sold-out 'Alles-Endet-Tournee '25' through Germany, the band will now play the remaining parts of the Federal Republic in spring – with many new songs in the quiver and the old scars in their luggage. The instruments are still damp from last autumn's sweat, the nights not fully digested yet. They call it the 'Stadion Tour' – half irony, half manifesto. Because they don’t need stadiums, just spaces where it’s loud enough.

In March 2026, it begins: ten cities, ten nights, ten times heart racing. No show is like the other, yet each feels like coming home. In summer, Leftovers will actually cross through the stadiums as the opener for Die Toten Hosen on their 'Trink aus! Wir müssen gehen' tour.

Leftovers will continue their own 'Stadion Tour' in October, part 2 so to speak. On tour bus with them will already be their new album, which will be released in September. The first single from it: 'Absturz'. Between self-assertion and stagnation, the song says: 'No one saves you, no one holds you back.' This also applies to this furious four-piece from Vienna. So Leftovers are treating themselves to one more hot autumn. 12 cities, 12 nights in Germany and Austria, 12x sweat, ecstasy, euphoria in the circle pit – and always a teardown galore!

A relationship revue with the soundtrack of the 80s

Kathy and Lenny are going through a divorce. While clearing out their shared apartment, they find an old mixtape that they recorded together as a young couple in the 80s: She the A-side, he the B-side. Back then, they were in great romantic happiness. Now, both want to keep the tape and don't want to let it go to the other. Therefore, they decide to battle for it. This raises the not-so-serious question of whether they should have continued listening to the music of the 80s. Would they maybe not have failed as a couple?

They give it a try. Playfully and dancing, they revisit the key stages of their relationship and battle for the cassette - this time accompanied by the songs from the mixtape. In the end, not only does the question arise of who gets to keep the mixtape, but also whether the music of the 80s could have saved this love.

An entertaining evening of nostalgic time travel - from Just like Heaven to Blaue Augen to Such a shame. And above all stands, of course, Pat Benatar's insight: Love is a battlefield.

Under the motto "Circuswelt," our newly assembled program for 2026 will delight you.
You will see animal performances with our well-groomed animals (dromedaries, horses, donkeys, dogs). This year, you will see for the first time the trapeze and loop performances by Pascal Frankordi, which were reported by Hessischer Rundfunk. Our animal performances will be presented by the head of the house, Marco Frank, or his daughter Aloma-Tatjana. In our animal performances, you will notice the trusting interaction between humans and animals.
Our artistic performances are diverse and are charmingly presented by our artists. They are characterized by their fluid sequences and high-quality tricks.
Clown Marcello will bring laughter to not only the children but also the adult visitors with his funny and likeable manner, making them forget everyday life. He has come up with new tricks for the 2026 season that he has not shown before.

Break allows time for animal visit
During the break, you can visit our animals and see for yourself the good care they receive. Our animals are regularly checked by the responsible veterinary office and are kept according to the guidelines of § 11, with requirements usually exceeded. Our restaurant and clean restroom facilities are also available to you.

On October 17, the Volksbühne in the großer Hirschgraben invites you to a day of hell – from 6 PM to at least 9 PM.

The first part, titled "Zur Hölle," tells in one hour and 13 minutes how Werner Peter (a small poet) escapes his hell and attempts a new life – in vain, as one might suspect. In the second part, titled "Der letzte Tag," we follow Werner Peter (a small poet) during another hour as he spends his last day on Earth.

Between the first part "Zur Hölle" and the second part "Der letzte Tag," a break of forty-two minutes provides plenty of time to exchange ideas over cheese and wine, make phone calls, or answer emails.

"Zur Hölle" already celebrated its German premiere at the Volksbühne in the großer Hirschgraben two years ago; this year (on October 17) you will experience the world premiere of Philipp Mosetter's metaphor drama in 32 tableaux and several interludes with the second part "Der letzte Tag," as it is referred to in the subtitle.

“The Times They Are a-Changin’” sang Bob Dylan, Chancellor Scholz spoke of a turning point in time, Wolf Biermann knew “only those who change remain true to themselves.” And Lore and Harry? A lot has changed for them too. They have aged, their wild times are over, their Summer of Love has turned into late autumn. After all, despite all the adversities of their free-spirited existence, they have managed to stay married for more than 30 years. And that should remain the case.

But how? The industrious Lore is heavily involved in the literary scene. The grumpy Harry, on the other hand, a retired building supervisor, occasionally enjoys a wheat beer and lovingly tends to the delphinium in his garden. Lore fears, however, that Harry might only care for the delphinium in his garden and occasionally enjoy a wheat beer for the rest of his life. Thus, they tease each other through their days. Somewhat lovingly, yet simultaneously getting on each other's nerves.

But then something happens that brings them back together: Daughter Gloria is getting married. And for the third time. And then to the snobby son of a “real estate jerk,” as Harry puts it. But then he finds “a grim pleasure in the whole thing” and sees it as “a revitalization for his old anti-capitalist fighting spirit.” So off to the wedding. And indeed in the old cord jacket.

The Criminal Dinner 'A Body in the Louvre' – is a delicious multi-course menu in a stylish ambiance, framed by an exciting criminal case, taking place at the Frankfurter Hof Seppche in Frankfurt.

We find ourselves in the Paris Louvre in the year 1958. Valérie LaVoyante, an indispensable art historian at the Louvre for many years, has invited you to a grand reception. Et voilà... You are part of this illustrious, high-profile, and art-appreciating society when La Voyante suddenly drops the bombshell: The centerpiece of the Louvre, the world-famous "Mona Lisa," is not entirely authentic. A forgery! This shocking news raises many questions among all the guests. Where is the real one? Who has it in their possession and is it intact?

Unfortunately, not all attendees will be able to experience the solution to these burning questions, as shortly after the revelation, a body is suddenly discovered! A cold-blooded and determined murderer is lurking in the Louvre – but who is it? The Paris police are sadly more than "prevented." So it is up to you to interpret the clues and unmask the murderer. An exciting journey into the past and a tricky murder case await you!
