From August 22, 2024, to August 24, 2024, the backdrop of the Wallerfangen/Düren airfield transforms into an open-air concert stage for the first time. Over three days, from August 22, 2024, to August 24, 2024, the airfield will be dedicated to rock and hard rock music.

Alex Beyrodt, composer, guitarist, and producer, has once again achieved a career highlight with his musical friends. Alex travels worldwide with his rock and metal bands, Primal Fear, Sinner, or Voodo Circle. Additionally, he is a key part of the successful series "Rock meets Classic," featuring orchestras and guest stars like Ian Gillan, Steve Lukather, Alice Cooper, Don Felder, Steve Winwood, just to name a few. With the project Alex and Friends, he gathers his musical and personal friends - and these friends are truly remarkable. Thomas Blug, does this name still need an introduction? A renowned German rock guitarist, the best European Stratocaster player, and an amp sound designer known worldwide.
On vocals, David Readman from England, the rock pipes known for his work with Pink Cream 69, who shook up the European charts in the '90s. On drums, Tommy Fischer, the friendly Hessian who played with Guildo Horn for 10 years, is a regular at Thomas Blug's Rockanarchy and is a member of the Woodstock legend Miller Anderson's band, who showed Santana at Woodstock in 1969 how to set up his amp. Last but not least, on bass and vocals, Rudi “Gulli” Spiller joins Alex and his band crew. As a co-founder and permanent member of Rockanarchy, he is widely recognized, at least in Germany. Names like Mick Rogers (MM Earthband), Jennifer Batten (Michael Jackson), or Phil X (Bon Jovi) are just a few big names that have shared the stage with "Gulli" and his Rockanarchy.
The concert series "AIRFIELD ROCK 2024" continues on August 23, 2024, with the legendary German hard rock band "BONFIRE". Bonfire is considered one of the best hard rock bands in Germany, and in 2018, they performed at the legendary Wacken Open Air. Bonfire has released 14 albums to date, with sales totaling over 6.5 million worldwide. Originally from Ingolstadt, Germany, and founded in 1972 as Cacumen, the band renamed itself Bonfire in 1986. Hans Ziller and Bonfire have enjoyed over 40 years of success, celebrating significant achievements along the way. These include tours with Judas Priest and ZZ Top, a gold record for Fireworks in Germany, multiple album chart entries in various countries, appearances on ZDF TV Rockgarten in 2020 and 2021, and the classic "You Make Me Feel" reaching over 25 million views on YouTube. Bonfire has diligently worked on a significant project to be released in 2023 on AFM Records.
This project includes a book biography by Hans Ziller, a Bonfire documentary, and re-recordings of the first 3 Bonfire albums, DON'T TOUCH THE LIGHT, FIREWORKS, and POINT BLANK. Bonfire is globally recognized for their great songwriting, catchy melodies, and heavy metal-infused musicality.
Completing the "AIRFIELD ROCK 2024" series on August 24, 2044, is the currently most popular Pink Floyd tribute band from St. Wendel, "The Pink Floyd Project".
