The Erster Kölner Barbershop Chor is a renowned Cologne choir known for its wide repertoire and passionate performances.

It (EKBC) was founded in 1987 as the first German Barbershop men's choir by Kurt Gerhardt and was directed by him for ten years. During this time, the "Wise Guys" were also members of the choir for several years until they could no longer sing due to the increasing number of performances and wished the choir all the best for the future with a farewell composition. After over 20 years, EKBC has a new conductor: Andrea Figallo! He works as a singer, coach, and producer. Andrea was a bass for several years in the Cologne a cappella group Wise Guys.

Between 1997 and 2007, the choir was co-directed by Matthias Neuburger and Leo Freitag. For the following three years, Leo Freitag alone directed the choir, and from 2010 to 2022, the choir was directed solely by Matthias Neuburger. From 2023, Andrea Figallo will take over as our new choir director.

Over the years, we have recorded three CDs and performed on many Cologne stages such as the Music University, Philharmonie, Cologne Opera, Lanxess Arena, in the Gürzenich as well as in Senftöpfchen.

The real life story of the Frenchwoman Anne Beaumanoir. Based on the epic poem by Anne Weber. The work, which was awarded the German Book Prize in 2020, deliberately places a woman at the center of a literary form that is usually reserved for male heroes.

Anne, also known as Annette, was born in Brittany in 1923. During the Nazi occupation of France, Annette joins the resistance. In the late 1950s, she joins the Algerians' fight for freedom against the colonial power of France, has to flee France, and leaves her family behind indefinitely. Her biography is rich in "grand history," meaning it is rich in small decisions with great impact. What drives a person to resist? What is worth fighting for? What sacrifices does such a life demand?

Pink Punk Pantheon has been a popular cabaret-style, alternative carnival revue with cult status for decades, far beyond the borders of the Rhineland.
The biting revue, which takes a jab at club bureaucracy and all current political, global, and Rhineland topics, takes place annually in the Bonn small arts temple Pantheon. Among the 16 participants are, of course, the local heroes from Bonn, Rainer Pause and Norbert Alich, in their roles as club president "Fritz Litzmann" and "Hermann Schwaderlappen" – possibly the smallest, but most combative council of eleven in the world!

The JTB presents the first of these stories, 'Eine Woche voller Samstage', in the popular musical version by the renowned composer Rainer Bielfeldt, directed by Andreas Lachnit for audiences aged 5 and above.

Together with her older brother Hans, Sophie Scholl studies at the University of Munich from 1942 onwards. The siblings and their friends become increasingly aware of the injustice of the Nazi dictatorship, and the more urgent their need to do something about it and awaken the indifferent population.

The Young Theater Bonn has received the rights to bring 'The White Rose - The Last Days of Sophie Scholl' to the stage, based on the screenplay by Fred Breinersdorfer. The production by Jens Heuwinkel is suitable for audiences aged 14 and above.

All performances of this play take place in the dome hall of the Thalia Bookstore at Bonner Marktplatz.

Although Heaven 17 was not originally planned as a group, they have become an indispensable part of music history today.
They were formed by Martyn Ware, who was known for his work with the Human League and later became the producer for Tina Turner.

And they took off immediately: their first album "Penthouse And Pavement" was certified Gold in the UK charts after 14 weeks and is still considered a modern classic. With songs like "Let’s All Make A Bomb" and "Song With No Name," Heaven 17 remains a pinnacle of British synth pop.
Influenced by bands like Kraftwerk, the band was a project full of passion and creativity, where the musicians had full control over the music and its representation, as reflected in their songs.

With their album "The Luxury Gap," they created a pop masterpiece that conquered the international charts. Their song "Let Me Go" almost broke into the UK Top 40.
Also on the album is the song "Temptation," which later was released as a single and is considered THE song of the 80s by many. 
Martyn Ware himself says about it: "Every show we do, in all circumstances and with every demographic, it just always works." Simply a hit in music history.

Now, they are coming to Germany with their "Temptation" Tour 2025, bringing their hits to the stage for you!

Join them as Heaven 17 performs four decades of music history, getting you dancing with their synthesizer sounds.

This title of the new program by Jochen Malmsheimer is based on Simon Bolivar, who, if you believe the Internet – and far too many do nowadays – lived for a long time with Jean Paul Sartre. Perhaps it was Simone Signoret who lived with Sartre.
Or Sartre lived alone, constantly in the boudoir.
Maybe Sartre didn’t live with anyone at all, except perhaps with a Beaujolais and some tokens. Gitanes.
Who can say? And, above all, why?
In this program, which empties the morning but fills the evening, there are neither eland antelopes, bromeliads, nor other sweet grass types, because they are, quite rightly, strictly protected. Furthermore, it deals, alongside various oddities, with the fundamental error of cycling, the rarity of art, its mysterious relationship with the moon, and other big and medium-sized questions, and does so very rigorously.
But as always and everywhere, it applies here as well:
What really happens, only the wind knows!

The NEINhorn is born in the Heart Forest, a sugary magical world with "super sunny sun hills" and "wildly flowing waterfalls." Its eternally happy kindred spirits really get on the NEINhorn’s nerves. So it soon bids farewell with a cheeky "See you then!" On its journey, it meets the WASbear, the NahDOG, and the King's DAUGHTER, reluctantly finds new friends in them, and realizes: being stubborn is more fun with friends.
The cheeky story with the unique wordplay of cult author Marc-Uwe Kling (The Kangaroo Chronicles, among others) could not be performed as a morning show at the Forum due to a short-term illness in October 2023. Now, the Atze Musiktheater is coming back specifically for school and preschool children to Leverkusen!

The ape Rotpeter was forcibly taken from Africa to Europe, escaped a life in the zoo, and gained recognition and prosperity as a human imitator and variety artist. In the process of his "becoming human," he realizes that humans often try to deny their animal origins with uncouth behavior in order to appear civilized. But Rotpeter continues on his path, fully aware that although he has found a way out of captivity, he is by no means truly free. Now is the time to report to the audience...

Since 1982, director and actor Thomas Goritzki has been performing his solo piece on stages in Germany. Kafka's timeless text in this production gets under your skin, prompting reflections on the loss of identity, assimilation, as well as the dignity and freedom of the individual.

'The Little Prince' (original title: Le Petit Prince) is a narrative illustrated by the French author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The book was published in 1943 in New York, where Saint-Exupéry was in exile, and it became his most famous work. A modern fairy tale, a poetic fable, which has been translated into over 50 languages to this day.

Olja Artes, who has already directed 'Momo' at JTB, now directs 'The Little Prince' in the Thalia Kuppelsaal. A plea for friendship and humanity for an audience aged 8 and above, but essentially for all ages.

All performances of this piece take place in the Kuppelsaal of the Thalia bookstore at Bonn Market Square.
