Sivan Ben Yishai's piece is a radical, harsh, and at the same time humorous self-experiment about love. About how every woman (and man) changes within it. Nominated for the Mülheim Theater Prize 2020.
Comic hero Popeye, the muscle-bound sailor, must constantly fight against all sorts of adversaries. Mostly to rescue his long-time friend Olive Oyl from the highest danger. In "Love," everything is different: author Sivan Ben Yishai turns sidekick Olive into the protagonist, and the two comic characters become prototypes for heterosexual couple relationships today. Intimate matters are publicly addressed because social power relations are inscribed in the stories of the body. As a keen observer of her own love life, Olive dissects the ambivalence between female self-determination and losing oneself in old relationship patterns - only to reinvent herself in the end with archaic fury.

Has the brutal fasting been worth it? Will they make it to the finish line on Easter Sunday? Will redemption come, even if they indulge in a binge on Good Friday and can’t resist? And what the hell is actually inside this egg? Will it really bring us peace? A fresh start and resurrection after torture and crucifixion?
And who laid it in our nest? An excessively sexually-oriented rabbit named Hare? Was he the one who inspired our church staff to wild fantasies?
Or could it be a cuckoo egg?
But who the heck was the cuckoo then?

Fritz & Hermann always gratefully seize this opportunity to finally take stock again. They follow a thousandfold desire, regardless of the dangers they may expose themselves to in times of illness, war, and climate crises - one never knows what’s in the eggs! - and they break them all open, even the rotten ones! And they accompany us with songs, ideas, and prejudices. Popular, evil, old as well as new, and of course, as always, with answers to questions that no one has asked.

In response to the main program, the pianists will present their own solo piano contributions in the “Club Program.” In the Beethoven Piano Club, they are encouraged to engage in an equally exciting and unpredictable dialogue with their musical creativity and artistic horizons.

When Mount Vesuvius erupted over 2,000 years ago, Pompeii was buried under lava and ash. The fate of the ancient city attracts millions of visitors each year, and there are countless photographs.

That there are still always new perspectives on the ancient city is demonstrated by the images of architectural photographer Hans Georg Esch.

In conversation with Tilman Spreckelsen from the F.A.Z., Hans Georg Esch explains how a originally small assignment for a 360-degree panoramic image of the Bay of Naples turned into an extensive photographic project and where photography is currently heading.

The award-winning musician and multi-instrumentalist Coşkun Karademir connects the mystical sound world of Anatolia with modern musical influences through his project "Ethnic Signals." His works combine traditional folk songs, maqam-inspired compositions, and electronic elements – an innovative fusion that has brought him international recognition.

Since his youth, Karademir has been deeply rooted in the Baglama and explores the cultural diversity of Anatolia in his music. In addition to his own albums, he has composed soundtracks for films, TV series, and documentaries, and has worked as an artistic consultant with musicians from various genres.

He gained particular attention with The Secret Ensemble and Iranian singer Mahsa Vahdat: Their debut album "Kuşların Çağrısı / The Call of the Birds" as well as the follow-up album "Endless Path" were hailed by critics as masterpieces. With "Oz," Karademir reached the top of the world music charts and represented Turkey at the prestigious Womex fair. For his collaboration with Hesam Naseri, he was also awarded the Silver Medal at the Global Music Awards.

With "Ethnic Signals," Coşkun Karademir continues his musical journey – a project that expands the boundaries of traditional Anatolian music and carries it into the world in innovative ways.

The real life story of the Frenchwoman Anne Beaumanoir. Based on the epic poem by Anne Weber. The work, which was awarded the German Book Prize in 2020, deliberately places a woman at the center of a literary form that is usually reserved for male heroes.

Anne, also known as Annette, was born in Brittany in 1923. During the Nazi occupation of France, Annette joins the resistance. In the late 1950s, she joins the Algerians' fight for freedom against the colonial power of France, has to flee France, and leaves her family behind indefinitely. Her biography is rich in "grand history," meaning it is rich in small decisions with great impact. What drives a person to resist? What is worth fighting for? What sacrifices does such a life demand?

DOD – the program that was abruptly stopped by the pandemic in March 2020 will experience a revival in spring 2025. The few dates with this
program and also increased inquiries led Gerd Dudenhöffer to mature the thought of a resumption.

Cemetery bells. Sonorous. Gloomy. Suddenly cold white light. Heinz Becker comes home, from the funeral to the kitchen. In his black suit; 5 calla lilies in hand: "I forgot to throw these in the grave." Instead, they now lie on the kitchen table.

From now on, he has to decide for himself. Familiar routine? Broken away. Nothing is as it was. His everyday life –

thoughtfulness. This clumsy helplessness. And slowly he begins to ponder, to reflect, to process ...
For over 30 years, Gerd Dudenhöffer has been playing, his sensitized-sharpened ear directly aimed at civic sensibilities, his real-satirical, grotesque-
authentic art figure as a personified caricature of the narrow-minded, universal person like you and me, the average consumer, whom he sharply exposes, with perfect timing, sparingly used facial expressions, free of any political correctness, always naturally with hearty, often involuntary, because 'Heinz-typical' humor.
DOD – theatrical "cabaret noir," stringently staged, black-and-white, light-dark, skillfully maintaining the balance between tragedy and comedy. Tragicomic, indeed. Because Heinz is Heinz. 'Deadly safe.

Being constantly reachable is a thing of the past. Lennart Schilgen returns with his third program – and shines through his absence. When he’s not giving concerts and winning small art awards (Prix Pantheon, Stuttgarter Besen, among others), he primarily does one thing: getting away. Among other things, he goes on a cycling tour, to a monastery, and to a communist summer camp. Or just into the depths of his thoughts, which is often adventurous enough.
What comes out are songs about the detours and roundabout paths in the world and in his own head. Full of lightness and wit, but also unafraid to deal with the dark corners. This time, some things that have been swept under the rug for years are dug up: the old PUR cassette. The phase as a daring guy. The issue with the night bus stop. Luckily, Schilgen safely navigates every abyss – supported by his skilled piano and guitar playing, his voice, and his “alert spirit, with heart and humor and sneaky punchlines” (Laudation for the ‘Tuttlinger Krähe’).
And when all else fails, there are always the poems: little linguistic surprises, deeply silly, and highly artistic. The recently published “Collected Works” are, if I may briefly mention this here, already something of a bestseller in poetry collection standards. Any questions?
