International Ocean Film Tour - Vol. 12
The Oceans Film Tour presents a diverse program featuring international ocean, water sports, and adventure films. The focus is on people who, with passion, a spirit of discovery, and a sense of responsibility, offer new perspectives on the world of oceans – whether during expeditions at sea, in efforts for marine conservation, or in sporting challenges in and around the water.
With A DIFFERENT BEAST, the program follows three Scottish brothers on an extraordinary journey: with no outside help, they row across the Pacific, facing wind, waves, and physical limits for weeks. THE LAST DIVE tells the touching story of a special friendship between a former diver and a manta ray – an intimate meeting characterized by trust, respect, and the deep connection between humans and animals. In HOME IS THE OCEAN, the sea itself becomes the center of life: a Swiss family has been living on a sailboat for 25 years, moving from expedition to expedition with their children. The film showcases a life balancing freedom, a connection to nature, and the challenges of daily life far from the mainland. For pace and adrenaline, UP THE COAST features kiteboarding pro Kevin Langeree chasing the perfect wind along the South African coast with friends and discovering spectacular spots. Finally, with CHRISTA FUNK: FIRST IN, LAST OUT, the focus shifts behind the camera. The surf photographer has been documenting the scene in Hawaii for years and shares stories about patience, timing, and the art of capturing that one magic moment between wave and light.
